I produce Interview style videos for a living. I use a Professional field recorder with matched stereo microphones for my primary audio track. Recently I decided to add a "camera mount" shotgun microphone as a safety, aka a scratch track. The "on camera" microphone was useless, so why not? There is nothing more frustrating than shooting a set, then finding out your memory card or drive failed and you have no audio. It was so inexpensive I picked up a second one as a spare (just in case) and plan to use them on all future shoots. The audio ended up being so good, I found I can easily use it as primary audio if my main system fails someday. Sure it will take a few hours to tweak/EQ, but it's a viable backup track, for practically free.My verdict, if you want an inexpensive, great sounding shotgun, this is the way to go.It's easy to use, has great sound, decent line level, and it's well built. It also uses AA batteries.

This is a shotgun mic I use for Zoom, WebX conferencing. People on the other end tell me it sounds pretty good - certainly better than the mics on various BT headphones I own (probably has better rejection of extraneous room noise, I think). The price was certainly very reasonable for a microphone with this level of audio quality.

This microphone is a great option for anyone starting out with video recording. It offers solid sound quality for the price and is a simple, no-fuss addition to any setup. It works well with both Nikon and Canon cameras, making it a versatile choice for most users. While it’s not the most high-end mic, it does the job well for interviews and basic video projects. The build quality is decent, and it’s easy to use, making it a good choice for beginners who want to improve their audio without breaking the bank.I’d recommend this to anyone just starting out with vlogging, interviews, or video recording. It’s an affordable and reliable option to get better sound in your videos.

All my doubts disappeared the first time I hooked up this microphone. That was a good six months ago and I've since used this mic for clients' YouTube videos and for my own business videos on YouTube (I post weekly YouTube videos on mixing digital marketing with traditional practices for SMB companies).I also produced a series of technical training videos that span 24 hours covering refrigeration technologies and this mic recorded without a glitch. Believe me, I was ecstatic with the results, 24 hours of crisp and clear audio and no need to go into a sound booth for dubbing voiceovers. This mic is great on cameras whether you are using a DSLR or a true video camera. The 10dB boost is perfect for grabbing voices and sounds when the setup requires you to be just a bit too far away from your subjects. Put the mic off-camera on a small boom, whether on a stand or handheld, and it works like a charm for small group interviews, a subject roaming a small room, or when your subject is nervous wearing a lav mic.You can pay 10x the price of this mic and get a "better" mic, but you probably won't hear a difference. And if this gets dropped on concrete, rained on, or takes a bath in a river raft, you can afford to replace it.

I have compared this mic to 6 other mics and this was the best! The dynamic range of this mic is not the greatest, but for what I record, weddings, stage productions, events, and video productions, i really don't need a lot of DR, only full, healthy levels and sound clarity. I really recommend this microphone over other cheap microphones and over the more expensive Rode and Senal microphones.

I use the mic on ZOOM meetings and when live streaming on YouTube, it works very well, picks up my voice and reproduces with clarity.

Besides builtin camera mic,I have been using a clip on external mic which was not easy to handle while filming. This gadget clips right onto my camera and plugs into the camera mic.Sound quality is decent when compared to the clip on mic,not to mention the option of changing the way you pick the sound. The wind cover is a plus for windy days as it reduces the sound of the wind beating the camera mic.No professional photographer here, but for what I paid for,I think it's worth the little money spent and I do recommend it to others.

Great budget microphone for the price. It was easy to mount on my camera and plug in, and the sound quality is much better than the built-in mic. The included windscreen and furry cover help reduce wind noise outdoors. Overall, a good option if you want better audio without spending a lot.

The mic seems to be well made and produces fair quality audio. I really like the mic and it will be a permanent addition to my bag. Read below for some more detailed thoughts.*Pro's*-Size is just right for a 5600 Nikon. Not to small and not so large it dwarfs the camera.-Audio quality is much better than I would have anticipated from a mic at this price range.-Connected to the camera easily and the plug has a long enough cord to connect to the camera without having the awkward extra wire catching on everything.-Sliding the Fuzzy cover is easy. Neither cover came loose or slipped during the time that I have used them
