Creative filter purchased for vintage portraits. Good material, inside there are also three wipes for cleaning the lens. Recommended for those who, like me, are looking for experiments and shots a little out of the ordinary.

K&F Concept 67mm Split Diopter Prism Filter, Linear Prism Effect Filter, K9 Optical Glass, Blurred Refraction, Close-up Effect.

This is a K&F Concept filter (67mm model) with a Split Diopter Prism effect, with two semicircular glass lenses facing each other, leaving a central linear zone without correction glass. Therefore, if an AF zone is set, the filter will not be able to be adjusted. central or an optimal manual focus in this central area, the contours of that central line of the focused image remain in blur and with some whitish halo diffusion depending on the incidence of light, as the outer ring of the filter is adjustable, it is free to rotate on its other support ring to fix it to the filter holder, so we can orient the blur up + down, right + left, even diagonally, so that it is much better understood and even more visible the effect of this filter instead of in photography mode, I have made several videos edited into one with several frames so that you can clearly appreciate the effects that can be achieved with it (I hope you know how to appreciate the effort to show it) and you can see how to use it in your artistic shots, either in photography or video mode. In addition to the protective box, as you will see, a set of 3 small individual cleaning cloths of the same brand is sent; (Cleaning this type of filter is a bit more difficult; try to avoid its center groove.)

I tested this filter on a Samyang 85mm F1.2 and a wide-angle lens. It screws on perfectly and rotates smoothly to adjust the focus.

This type of filter allows you to break the plane of focus, with the central band unaffected (in theory), then the sides, where the dioptric filter acts as a magnifying glass.
This allows you to create various effects, such as breaking the focus on the sides of a subject when the scene is distant, but it also allows you to bring a subject back into near-macro focus while also maintaining central sharpness on a more distant point.
This is quite clearly visible in my first test photo, where we have a sharp foreground, then blur, then a sharp plane again, then blur again. In the second, I have a piece of branch in macro on the sharp side (as much as possible), then the focus is 15 meters further away in the center. The effect is therefore symmetrical depending on the orientation of the slit in the filter, allowing you to place a nearby element on the ground in a landscape in focus, plus focus on the horizon and blur what's between the two planes.

There are some limitations, however: at an aperture of F1.2, it's almost impossible to achieve any sharpness anywhere and at any focusing distance with this filter. So, I went down to F2.8 for these photos, and even then, there's a strong diffusion effect, especially against backlighting.

With a longer focal length, the filter tends to blend better into the image, whereas with a wider angle, it begins to stand out more at the boundary between the glass on each side and the empty space. With front-on lighting or very slightly off-camera lighting aimed at the lens, you can also create flares and reflection/refraction effects.

With ideas, there will be quite a few interesting things to do with it.

Simply put, K&F have done a great job with this.

A filter that helps a lot with video, if you have a lens with a wide aperture (f2.8, f1.8 or smaller) the filter works wonders with bokeh

I've never used a centerfield split diopter filter before, so I have no other similar filter with which to compare this one. This seems to be of high quality metal and optical glass, as usual, from K&F.

I definitely like the different effects I can get using this. The images seem to change based on the focal length of the shot. You shoot so that your subject is in the middle where it will be in focus. The blurry refraction effect happens in the background and all around your subject. It makes for a pretty dramatic shot.

The price is extremely reasonable compare to other similar filters that I've seen. The dramatic effect is going to be useful so I'm going to keep experimenting until I understand how to control the nuances of split diopter filter.

I've always been interested in trying a split diopter filter, so this was a fun piece to check out! It's definitely going to take a lot of getting used to, but so far, it's giving a really interesting effect, and I'm excited to get better with it. The threading is nice and smooth, and the whole piece has an excellent feeling quality, so I'm not worried about it damaging or getting damaged.

Great lens filter from K&F, as per usual. I've owned around a dozen of their lens filters and I've never had a problem with one out of the box.

This filter is really cool and makes a dreamy effect on your photos. Great for some "out of the norm" photos and for something different than your typical photo.
