The filter is well processed and does exactly what a Black Diffusion Filter should do. With a low price especially interesting to try this kind of filter, it is rather a special filter.

Photographically, the filter reduces the contrasts and draws the highlights in the shadows softly. This creates a slightly softer image with a "dreamy" look. The effect is particularly evident in high contrasts, such as lighting at night. Attached a sample image with a string of lights in the dark room. This clearly shows the effect. Shooting at night with individual light sources (e.g. car headlights) are the primary applications for me. Personally, I see more added value for the filter in videography to create a cinematic look.
Good price/performance ratio / special filter

I ordered the filter because I wanted to try out the universally praised cinematic look. Photographically, this is a replica of the look as it was once created on analog film (i.e. carrier layer and emulsion). With today's digital cameras, this is achieved by a diffuser that lets lights burn out a little. Even fine structures are blurred a little.

The Kentfaith filter is easy to screw into the filter thread of the lens. The filter glass, which looks very clear at first glance, develops its effect especially in bright lights. This leads to softer edges and a clear penetration of the light into the otherwise darker areas. The whole picture is a little softer and more pleasant. Especially when recording videos, such a good look is achieved. The photos of the lamp are once with and once without filter.

Conclusion: Great look when recording videos. Here you really think you have used a real film. I have now also ordered the filter for my other lenses with different diameters. With videos, I like the effect. But I prefer to have my photos crisp sharp.
Nice cinematic look for my videos Nice cinematic look for my videos

The effect is subtle in itself, but looks very beautiful and balanced. In comparison, without filters. Long exposures of nocturnal scenes (city / architecture) or Christmas market, bridges, rows of lights, etc. I imagine very nicely with it.
The glow is also nicely uniform and looks natural. I think that's very good.

First impression, therefore, absolutely positive.

For the hobby area, if you use it from time to time in photography, a no-brainer, imho.
I don't shoot videos, that would certainly be worth a separate test of how the cinematic community thinks about this.
great, subtle effect, price-performance ingenious! great, subtle effect, price-performance ingenious!

I already own several things from K&F and am always surprised about the good workmanship.

The black filter from K&F is packed super well and cleanly.
The workmanship is once again impeccable. It can be attached very well to my lens and can also be removed without losing unnecessary time.

The effect is flawless and given.

I can make a clear purchase recommendation.

I use the 77mm filter on my Canon EOS 6D with standard 24..105mm lens. It fits perfectly there.

In the test photos, there was no visible difference on the camera screen to photos without filters. It was only on the big screen that the effect became apparent in the details. Otherwise very bright areas are reduced by the filter in intensity and also sharp edges become slightly softer, but without the cheesy effect of a blur. If you take a closer look, the entire image is darkened a bit, as if by a very fine gray veil. The differences are almost impossible to tell in normal ambient light, but can be seen on the screen in twilight.

I like that you get more atmospheric images through the filter, especially in dark environments with light sources in the picture (e.g. candle, lamp, moonlight on water, etc.), without having to edit them afterwards on the PC. The halo around the light sources is visibly highlighted without appearing artificial.

This diffusion filter is certainly not intended for everyday photos, but rather for special moods. Of course, you can still edit the pictures on the PC, but the filter does some of this work when photographing and looks - as I said - not so artificial. Therefore, hobby photographers who like to work with atmospheric light should at least take a look at the K&F diffusion filter.

The filter comes from K&F Concept, which has made a name for itself in photography in recent years and is excellently processed.

Have tested the 1/4 and what does the filter actually do?
It paints the picture more softly, like with a cloud or fog in front of it, like a black manure filter. Draw the backlight softer, which is reflected on the entire image.
Especially when light or twilight and fire is involved, I find it very beautiful, because it takes the concentrated sharpness and it makes the picture more dreamy. Of the kind it is reminiscent of a video film look.
But be careful, the model is also "drawn softer", it is lost as sharpness. You should know this when working with this filter. It's a look you want to have!

For me top, a filter you have to have.

I bought the K&F Concept Black Diffusion 1/4 filter. The product was delivered quickly and packed in an attractive sales box.
The product of impeccably processed and makes a high-quality impression.
The central area (approx. 1 cm diameter) is almost unaffected. The filter effect then increases significantly towards the edge. Very nice discreet filter for "romantic photos" and portraits. Highly recommended for analogue photography. In the digital realm, I'm not so sure. If you have the possibility to take a picture uninfluenced and then digitally edit it afterwards and try out different filters, I prefer a digital filter. If you know what you are doing and you are sure that the photos with filter look exactly as you expect, then you save yourself post-processing time with the K&F filter.
High quality product, nice filter effect, price performance ratio fits. 5 stars

The filter fits perfectly with my camera.
I'm not the big photo expert now. The pictures are a bit softer, which you take with filters, but I can not notice the amazing difference in my landscape photos.
I don't take portrait photos. I think you can see it better there.

A K&F Concept Black Diffusion 1/4 filter dream cinema effect camera filter is supplied.

The filter has an ultra-slim waterproof and scratch-resistant multilayer glass. It is suitable for video, vlog and portrait photography. The workmanship and the quality are excellent. I particularly like the dream cinema effect. The recordings with filter are truly unique. I can recommend the filter to you. It is easy to install.

The price-performance ratio is reasonable.
That's why I give it 5 stars.

The filter comes in a small bag. At first glance, it shows good workmanship.

The whole thing is a very discreet blur, which is not great to recognize for laymen. One could almost mockingly claim that any image editing program could do that. Whereby the filter shines more in dark and close-ups. Large-scale images and in bright daylight elude its magic and are almost imperceptible.

For just one filter, not exactly cheap, but certainly worth its performance. Even if, to put it mildly, it is very discreet.
