Its speech recognition is even more accurate than the voice recognition on my phone's memo app. Plus, it can be used offline, which increases its versatility in different situations. I got this translator for a recent trip we took to Portugal, and found it to come in really handy when trying to figure out directions from local people and just engaging in conversations with people I would never have been able to communicate with otherwise. This is much faster than trying to search a translation on the web, because it is pretty much real time translation and you don't have to wait and figure out what people are saying. I'd say it was pretty accurate, but I'm not fully sure because I don't speak portuguese enough to confirm the accuracy. It was accurate enough for others to understand us, and for us to understand others. I think this is a really cool product and probably a must if you're going to be traveling to countries and don't know the language.
