I wasn't in the path of totality, but I used it for the eclipse. I'm still a beginner and have never tried to take eclipse photos before so I want to say this worked for what I needed it for.

I bought this when the delivery date wasn’t exactly promised to be before the 2024 solar eclipse. It was an investment that worked out for me thankfully because clouds spared me where I was based.
That said, I think this filter worked out perfect, and better than the foil type of a filter (faster filter which is cardboard based) I had purchased as a backup in case this doesn’t work well.
The photos I have attached were shot with this filter and I’ll let it speak for its quality. There’s a bit of distortion I saw in some pics but that I guess is bound to happen when shooting the sun.
The case that the filter has is quite nice and I’ll probably expire getting a few more filters (polarizers / GND filters) of this brand soon)

Purchased for the April 8, 2024 eclipse and it was perfect. This is one of those items that kind of hard to write a review for since they really have one specific use, to shoot photos of the sun.
I didn't want to use the solar film due to worries over image quality, so I grabbed this for one of the lenses I was using. The photos came out better than I expected. Great for shooting images of the sun and visualizing the sun spots, or eclipse hunting. Plan to get more use out of this for upcoming eclipses and to take some random shots of the sun. It's too dark for just about anything else.

This filter is very niche but I can take photos of the sun now! Would probably need a longer lens tho (at 200mm the sun is just a tiny dot). You could do long exposures but to get a decent exposure on a clear afternoon outside, I needed a 30 second exposure at f/2.8 with the ISO at 6400. Crazy. I do notice it does hinder the quality a bit but it’s what you get for a $30 filter.

Used for the April eclipse in Cleveland April 2024. Never took shots of the sun before and didn’t know what to expect when shooting. I wish I would have bought a better telescoping Lens because this filter was amazing.

Worked just great for the eclipse. With 1/1000s shutter speed. 58mm fits Canon lenses
