K&F has been making some really fantastic filters lately. The build quality of these devices is excellent. Precision machined brass rings thin enough not to interfere with the image but strong enough to protect your glass. They screw on very easily and the brass prevents unplugging and threading. The optical quality of the glass is excellent. There is no distortion whatsoever and the nebula filter gives your images a very subtle, dreamlike quality. In my opinion something that is really impossible in Photoshop or with digital editing. You get the realism and quality of a real optical effect and these look absolutely gorgeous. Some people may disagree, but I always prefer to do as much as possible in camera to avoid post-processing. And for videos, this is of course a time saver. Applying this subtle fog effect digitally to video is very processor intensive. This is a neat little way to soften facial features a bit for portraits, and I decided to take a portrait of this little guy. You can really see the difference around the eyes that the filter makes, in addition to the fact that it was very bright and this filter helped soften the shadows. This is a 1/4 crap so the effect is very subtle. Don't let the Black Diffusion name confuse you. This filter brightens your images by reducing contrast and softening highlights. It actually brightens the image up a bit, but in a way that doesn't blur. That's the beauty of real optical filters and not digital post-processing effects. This compares to my German filters, which I have paid a lot more money for in the past.

This filter is of very high quality, the glass is beautifully clear, the thread is very smooth-running and the grooves on the frame make it easy to grip. The effect is clearly visible. The photos look harmoniously soft, but remain sharp. Colors are not changed. Some of the "hardness" is removed from the images without being softened. The filter is stored in a simple plastic box with foam. Nothing special, but it's well protected. The scope of delivery also includes three cleaning cloths. All in all, this is a very good product, and the price is right. Everyone has to decide for themselves whether this filter is necessary. It is always an asset and the quality is top notch. That's why we're happy to give you full stars.

Shipping was very quick. The &F Concept Nano-K series Black-Mist 1/4 filter 72mm Black Promist 1/4 filter made of optical glass is very well made and can be screwed onto the thread of the lens without play. So far I have gotten to know a few products from K&F. The quality (and also the price) have increased significantly. The filters come close to comparable manufacturers who charge far more. I have the standard filter portfolio at home so far. This is my first filter, which should also achieve an effect. My anticipation and expectations were correspondingly high. The filter puts a slightly dark look with a lot of nostalgia on the picture. I really liked it. Also that the filter does not change the quality of the image. The filter harmonises perfectly when I shoot in jpeg with my film simulations. I'm a passionate Fuji photographer and I'm on the go with my X-T5 or X100V. The filters and the corresponding film simulations harmonize perfectly!!! I can highly recommend the filter.

This is a diffusion filter for cameras. I have the variant for 58mm filter threads. The Black Mist 1/4 filter creates a more softening effect. It looks nice, but you really have to look closely to see anything. However, you can see it in a direct comparison. In any case, it's not "too much". The filter is well made and fits every lens and camera with the appropriate filter diameter. (I tested it on 3 different cameras)

This filter gives some of my close-up crafts a nice softening, almost ethereal look, distracting attention from the details and directing it to the overall project. My camera has an internal star filter option which I also used in this image and I think the two go well together.
Nice subtle effect... Nice subtle effect...

The black mist filter makes the image a little softer and more “flowing”. This is particularly noticeable with bokeh (background blur) and incidence of light. This makes the bokeh look a touch softer. However, this effect is rather subtle. The 1/4 filter is not overly strong. Especially in focus, the sharpness remains quite high, but that's not a bad thing either. In terms of quality, there is nothing wrong with the K&F filter. The filter does what it is supposed to and can be used as a creative tool.
For a slightly softer bokeh and interesting effect

I received the K&F Concept Nano-K Series Black-Mist 1/4 filter for free to test. The product was delivered quickly and was securely packaged in a standard retail box. The filter is well padded and housed in a sturdy plastic box. 3 welded-in cleaning cloths are included. The filter makes a good visual impression and delivers the promised results in the image. The thread is smooth and fits exactly. In today's fully digital age, filters are out of fashion, since most effects can be added digitally afterwards. This filter is highly recommended for analog photographers or people who do not like to edit images digitally. The filter strength ¼ leads to rather unobtrusive subtle results. The manufacturer describes the filter effect very appropriately. With the appropriate step-up adapters, the filter can also be used on smaller lenses. good filter nice effect. Good workmanship. Reasonable value for money. 5 Stars

K&F makes quality photographic gear at a modest price, I have been happy with their products in the past and this filter is no different. It comes in a sturdy box and a plastic lens holder along with three lens cleaning cloth in hermetically sealed envelopes.
It easily screwed on to my beat-up Sony 24-105 G lens, it also stacked on to the UV filter. It feels well machined and has a knurled edge for an easy grip.
The effect is pleasant and slightly painterly. I don't feel comfortable uploading headshots of people, but it softens the highlights in portraits in a nice subtle way especially if there is strong rim light. 1/8th is a very subtle.
I would like to add that most of the time a blooming light source looks good, however if you have a subject in front of the bloom it can obscure the subject. You can see this a bit in the my photo with the house light behind the rock. The bloom is cool looking however if that had been a model it would blocked her.
I often add a glow or the variation called the Orton Effect in post. This black diffusion filter is cleaner in that it only affects the highlights. I tried the filter on a sunset shot and it had no change at all, may have to go to a 1/2 or a full diffusion to see any change.
Well Built and Adds a Subtle Glow.

I tried this K&F Concept 72mm Black Diffusion Filter to see what kind of effect it would have compared to a UV filter. This filter provides a slight cinematic effect, softening and blurring photos and videos. There's not much of a difference, but you can certainly tell a difference when shooting people. This makes the skin a little softer and smoother and the backgrounds aren't sharp. The picture shows it was a little dirty right away, but the graininess in the glass should be there to give the photos the softened effect. Overall, this is a nice filter to have in your camera bag, especially if you're shooting portraits or want to add a soft effect to videos.

Diffusion filters like this one come in black and white. I like to call the white ones “bottom-up” diffusers. They increase the brightness of shadows as they diffuse. A black diffuser is a top-down diffuser that slightly reduces highlights while softening the image. Matches my Canon L series lenses perfectly and as a diffusion effect it offers good image quality at a good price. In fact, where some types of filters are worth paying the premium, a diffusion filter is a place to save a little money if you can. Since the effect itself essentially degrades the image to create a creative effect, as long as the creative effect looks good, you'll get your money's worth. Five stars.
