The filter makes a very high-quality impression in terms of processing. Delivered in a plastic box, as known from other filters. In addition, you get 3 cloths to clean the filter or the objective lens. The thread is well made and can be screwed onto the lens without any problems. The edge of the filter still has a little wavy pattern, so you can rotate it better, so you don't slip off so easily. The filter makes black areas in the image a bit lighter, so there's a slightly softer effect. However, the effect on the variant I have (1/4) is very subtle. If you take a picture on the tripod with and without a filter, you can easily see the effect. I have attached a test image to this review, where you can compare the effect with the normal image. The filter is also advertised for portrait photography. I tried that too, but got the same result, very subtle. I did not attach the portrait photo for data protection reasons. Otherwise the filter is very clear, so there is no color cast etc. in the picture. Aside from the slightly lightened black, the rest of the image is identical, which is fine so far. The filter also has an internal thread, so you can screw on another filter if you need it. Whether you need the filter or not is an application-specific decision. I personally think that the effect of the filter, at least the 1/4 filter, can be easily achieved in post-processing. Because if you take the price into account (at the time of writing this review €27.99 for a 67mm thread) it's worth considering. If you need it often then it can be a relief, but for sporadic photos I don't think so. Technically and qualitatively it is a good product. For me, the effect is clearly too weak, with other variants it is, I think, even more pronounced. In summary, I give the filter 4 stars. I can understand the price to some extent, since the glass certainly costs a lot and it is also very clear and without color casts. But for me the effect achieved is a bit weak in relation to the price. then it can be a relief, but for isolated photos, I don't think so. Technically and qualitatively it is a good product. Let's start with the package that in addition to the filter we find 3 microfiber cloths, the build quality is very good but although it is sold as Slim the filter does not seem very good. Optically there is nothing to report, it does not lose light, has no dominants or produces particular glare defects or reflections. The only flaw I would point out is that the fillet is poorly made as it is difficult to find the correct loop to screw in and requires some force to attach, hence the 4 stars. It would be nice to see a comparison to the 1/4 crap. In conclusion, I would like to recommend this filter to anyone who wants a good black mist at a cheap price

The K&F Concept Nano-K Series Black-Mist 1/4 filter arrived quickly. It is always well stored in a suitable case. There are also three separately packaged towels. The processing seems reasonable. The filter fits and is easy to attach. The effect is subtle but visible and enhances one or the other picture. I am happy.

I used this 52mm filter on my old classic Canon EF 50mm 2.5 Compact Macro lens to capture the artificial candle image. I used a standard priority flash with an exposure of 1/30 second at f/16, ISO 1600. The filter was packaged in a sealed plastic bag in a reusable plastic sleeve for storage. The filter is machined to have a good thread and fit perfectly on top of a clear filter that I have permanently attached to my lens. The edge of the filter has grooves for easy on and off. Because Black Diffusion is used, dialing up or down the Black or even Clarity setting when opening a raw file in Photoshop can result in dramatic variability in the diffusion effect. The 18 multi-layer coatings can help reduce glare from flashing lights on shiny surfaces like glass or shiny metal. The filter creates a soft diffused effect on the subject, which is also caused by the light source used. This is a nice filter if you want to reduce diffusion, softness, or glare in photos or videos. It can add a dramatic element or cinematic quality. The filter came with 3 sealed microfiber cloths to keep it clean. K&F Concept 77mm Black Diffusion 1/8 Filter, Mist Dreamy Cinematic Effec Filter for Video/Vlog/Portrait Photography K-Series

This is a 1/8 stop black diffusion filter that lowers contrast and makes highlights glow. It’s not quite a soft focus filter, it does give the overall image a softer, dreamier and glowey effect. K&F filters are very well made and very well engineered. I have been using several of their filters recently and I rate them among some of the best in the business. These black diffusion effects are pleasing and subtle at least with the 1/4 and 1/8 stop filters. The effect gets more extreme with the 1/2 and 1 stop models. These are great for wedding, glamor and portraits, or anything you want to have a soft diffused glow to the image. Equally effective for video and photos. A fun effect to play with for added drama and vibe. Works best with scenes with lots of background highlights, or very backlit scenes. Modern lenses and sensors are so sharp that sometimes you just want a softer vibe, this is a good tool in the tool box for an instant dreamy and dramatic quality.

You can get the same effects using your computer programs but I like to do things “old school” by using different filters to achieve the desired effect. This filter works well.

It comes with a filter in a simple plastic box and 3 cleaning cloths. Using the filter is easy - the results are okay. I had previously tested a 1 filter that I found too strong. The 1/4 Promist filter is more subtle and comfortable.

I took some test shots of my face, I'll spare you the pics. I have some sun damage and this filter softened it up a bit which was nice. It also softened the texture of my skin a bit. This filter came well packaged and came with lens cleaners which is a nice touch in the packaging. The threads screwed on easily and I didn't see any anomalies, color casts or vignetting through the filter. This is a good tool for everything we can do to avoid the waste of time of post-processing photos, the better.

I have tried, and own, different grades of black diffusion filter. I think for its subtle effect, this 1/8 filter is my favorite. The smooth look, and highlight diffusion that you get with these filters, is either an acquired taste, or a specific characteristic that you're looking for in your shots. I personally don't use them all the time, but it is nice to bloom the highlights in certain scenarios. The 1/8 filter is very subtle in the daylight, but I found excels at night. You can of course, use it with decent effect during the usual golden hours, as the intensity of the highlights then, may be more visibly changed by this filter, photographically. In the daytime, with the sun right above you, it's hard to notice much of a difference. For video, it does an interesting effect, and may be something that you can apply to specific scenes, or just to unsharpened some of the digitized look from most cameras. Quality of the filter is very nice, made of good materials, and with nice coatings. It comes well packaged, in your standard plastic case, as well as included sealed microfibre cloths. It is affordably priced, and performs very nicely, for that price range. It doesn't in any way appear cheap to me, and like mentioned before, I do like the subtlety of this gradient. It's certainly good for the camera bag, and would be interesting to try with some golden hour portraiture. For video, I'd say it's limited to dreamlike sequences, and better suited for golden hour, and night time. All in all, I'm very pleased, and if you're looking for a 1/8 black diffusion filter, this one is a good choice.

A small cardboard box is supplied, in which is a plastic storage box in which the actual filter is located. KF could have saved itself the additional plastic bag. Also included are 3 individually wrapped microfiber scents. I didn't think this was needed either. The effect of the 1/4 filter is small. First of all, it's not noticeable until the light hits the subject at a certain angle and then hits the lens, you can see the extra softening in areas with fine detail that the filter creates. It is particularly noticeable when the light falls on the subject being photographed from behind. The processing of the filter is basically solid. What I like is that the rim has an extra ribbing that makes it easier to write on and off the filter. All in all a solid product with a very low effect. If you want a distinctive soft focus, you should try the stronger variants.
