Once that vacuum suction is activated, that stand isn't going anywhere, not no how, not no way! Right out of the box, I found the stand a bit stiff & difficult to open. The more I move the joints, it seems to be getting easier, though I could just be getting used to it and I suppose stiffer joints keep the phone in position better.When tilting the phone up, if I do it from the phone's bottom edge, the phone comes right off the stand. You have to also hold the metal ring at the back to tilt up. Not so much with down tilt.Rotating is easy but if the phone is in the straight up position, it's too tall to rotate to horizontal without removing it from the stand. It has to be at an angle to rotate freely, with no obstruction.The phone cannot tilt sideways but the holder base will swivel left or right. This doesn't affect the base swivel for tightening or releasing.I found removing it from my glass top to be extremely difficult, so I wouldn't call it a very portable device. I turned the dial left, pulled at the little tab at the bottom, and finally loosened it up with my fingernails. Then I could pry it off. I would feel confident installing it on my windshield, knowing it will never fall off of its own accord!The case is modern, well-designed, and performs its job well.
