A small giant
The K&F Concept action camera tripod is clearly designed with DJI action cameras in mind. The connector works perfectly with my DJI action cam and holds it securely, even when the camera is in its case.It features a ball head, which is perfect for making small adjustments when the surface isn’t level. I use this as a desk cam all the time, and the ball head makes it super easy to shoot top-down or straight on. Adjustments are quick and smooth, and unlike some ball heads that slip under weight, this one stays locked in place. I even keep a small light attached to my action camera, and it still holds everything securely. One feature I really appreciate is the ¼-inch side mount. That lets you attach an accessory like a microphone or an additional light, which you don’t usually see on tripods this size. That alone adds a lot of extra value.Another great feature is the extension. It’s tight and secure, so it won’t slide out on its own while you’re holding it. You do need to apply a bit of force to extend it, but it works smoothly and feels solid. My only small caveat is that when it’s fully extended in heavy wind, the top section can get a little wobbly. The legs can handle the weight, but there is some movement. Indoors on a desk or table though, it’s rock solid — and the extension means no more stacking books or boxes to get the right height. For the price, this is an excellent value and the quality is exactly what you’d expect from K&F Concept. They make a lot of action camera gear, and it shows in the details. For example, when you use it as a grip, the feet have rubber on the outside so it feels secure in your hand. When it’s set down as a tripod, the bottoms of the legs are also rubberized, so it doesn’t slip on smooth surfaces.Even the colors match the DJI action camera look — black with orange accents — which is a nice touch. This is a definite buy for me. If you’re looking for a mini action camera tripod with extension, this is a great, high-quality option.
