I'm not an audio expert. I do play music a bit, so I know a few things, and I do make videos for which I need clean audio. But I'm not the kind of guy who can judge the minutiae of different audio products. With respect to professionals in the field, I feel lost when people compare microphones that cost hundreds or thousands of dollars. I was looking for something a little more down to earth: something that works well and sounds good but won't break the bank. This is that microphone.For a while, I'd been primarily using lapel microphones when filming because, let's face it, I've never seen a camera with a decent on-board mic. While I still use those when the situation demands, I've now switched to this microphone for most of my day to day work. Is it the absolute best sound quality? No. But it's good. Is it the best at noise cancellation? No. But unless you're filming in extraordinarily noisy circumstances, it's good enough.If you're a professional trying to get professional quality audio, this probably won't quite do it for you. But if you need only the next best thing, and without spending professional prices, this is going to do exactly what you want. I even like it better than some of the competitors that do cost hundreds of dollars.
