Interesting to play with the light detail
This K&F variable star filter is a simple way to give a different look to photos and videos without loading multiple filters. The ring rotates 360° with good resistance, doesn't feel loose, and the metal frame feels firm. The product image clearly shows how the pattern of the lights changes when rotated, and that matches the actual use: you can adjust the tips of the stars to your liking, symmetrical or slightly out of date depending on the frame.
The effect works best with spot lights, especially at night. Outdoors is where you shine the most, with clean and well-defined stars. Indoors it's more irregular and some lamps barely react, so it's time to try. I didn't notice any vignetting or rare image degradation on the lenses I used. The only thing that can be improved is the protection: the box is basic, it is not identified and does not include a front cover, so the glass is slightly exposed. Even so, to get out of the visual routine and experiment, it does its job well.
