Handy filters for sunlight
Flying the Mavic 4 Pro along the Irwell looks so much better when the brightest parts of the frame behave themselves. This K&F Concept pack provides ND8, ND16, ND32 and ND64 filters, each cut from AGC glass and sealed under a 28-layer nano coating. They snap into place with a reassuring click thanks to a three-point clasp, and nothing shifts even when the wind tears through Salford Quays.
Image quality is genuinely impressive. Glare is tamed and colours remain accurate with the ND16 and ND32 in place. Thanks to the hydrophobic layer, rain spots from a damp morning in the Peaks wipe away in seconds, saving a lot of faff while out in the field. Of course, it is not perfect. Those tiny metal clips are fiddly if, like me, you have hands the size of paddles, and the ND64 adds a faint warm cast that needs a quick tweak in post. The storage case also feels rather flimsy and could do with firmer padding.
Even with those niggles, the set deserves a permanent place in my flight bag. It controls light reliably, copes well with rough weather and adds next to no weight, so the drone’s battery hardly notices at all.
