Good filter effect, easy handling, firm hold
regularly go out into nature with my dog and carry my Nikon D750 with various lenses, the most important of which all have a 77 mm thread. Especially in the forest and in the Harz Mountains, I always use a polarizing filter to reduce reflections from leaves and water. The only problem is that polarizing filters always absorb light, and you have to extend the exposure time accordingly, which is disadvantageous if I want to spontaneously photograph my dog. Until now, I was skeptical of magnetic filters because I wasn't sure whether they would hold up well when hiking through nature with the camera and the filter attached. Accordingly, I welcomed the opportunity to test this filter from K&F as part of the Vine program. I've already had very positive experiences with K&F products. While your program covers a very broad spectrum, you have some very high-quality products that are aimed at ambitious amateur photographers, particularly because of their lower prices. This filter is also one of their better products, which you notice right away when unpacking it. The filter is very cleanly crafted, with a precise magnetic thread and filter fit. The filter comes in a matching box, and a lens cloth is also included, well-protected in aluminum packaging. Overall, everything makes a very good impression. The thread screws onto the lens easily, and the magnet pulls the filter into place and holds it very firmly, allowing the filter to be rotated easily without slipping. Because of the slim design, it barely affects the image, even with the 16 mm wide-angle lens. This filter has completely put to rest my fear that a magnetic filter might fall off while hiking. It sits really securely and firmly on the lens. Yet, it can be removed very quickly when needed, which is much more convenient than the time-consuming unscrewing process. For me, this is a significant improvement in the handling of filters in outdoor photography, where you often have to adjust your equipment on the fly. I think I'll rely more on magnetic filters from now on; the test convinced me of their functionality. The filter performance is clearly in the better range of the polarizing filters I use. There are really big differences in the reduction of reflections and color fidelity, and you have to invest quite a bit if you want reliably good filter performance. I'm very satisfied with the performance of this filter; you can clearly see how reflections are reduced when you turn it. Overall, this is another highly recommended product from K&F.
