had a Ranger which I lost and replaced it with this. Overall it is fine. It is a tad longer than the Ranger and harder to pack. The levers of adjusting the ball took some getting used to and have trouble locking in with the weight of of large lens. Overall a good value and does what you need it to do.

had a very dumpy, Amazon Basics-style rudimentary tripod that lasted me over 10 years until last year. One of the wingnut adjustments was over-tightened and stopped working. Got a cheap, "heavy duty" $40 replacement from Walmart that lasted about 4 months. Finally took the plunge and ordered this tripod, and I'm definitely never looking back!I only use it for extended periods while shooting the statues, figures and pieces I paint, so administer with a granule of sodium, but this thing is more than adequate for what I'm doing with it and I'm very confident it could survive any trips I made for reference shots for paintings, in any sort of environment. It feels sturdy, holds position with zero fuss, and even the ball head joint feels great a few months in. The nicest thing is the added arm, which will make videography an easy adjustment if and when I get around to recording myself working. Love this tripod so far!

The tripod comes in a handy and solid carrying bag and can be set up very easily and quickly. The processing of tripod and bag is great. The camera can be adjusted and aligned quickly thanks to the ball joint, and the integrated spirit level on the locking plate is a great help. Unfortunately, there is not enough rubber on the locking plate, which makes it easier for the camera to move horizontally... maybe that can be fixed in the successor model. All in all a great tripod for beginners for the price.

I’m pleasantly surprised by the quality of this tripod, for the price you get a lot of value. I used it with my Canon EOS 750DThe main body is aluminium which makes it resistant and strong whilst also lightweight. Some of the more expensive options use Carbon Fibre which is much lighter, but I find the compromise to be sufficient. The other components are made of rubber and plastic on the end tips and other intricate areas. When extended, this tripod can reach 2 metres in height, which is on par with many of the high-end models and opens you up to an extended rage of shooting opportunities versus a shorter tripod. When deploying the tripod, you can use the rubber feet on solid surfaces or remove them to use the spikes in grassy or softer surfaces. Each leg is adjustable individually which allows for deployment on uneven surfaces, it stays very sturdy and rigid in the position you want it to be. To help you with this, it has a small integrated spirit level which aids you in finding the perfect balance. The ball head is Arca-Swiss, and the plate is compatible, so you have some flexibility when it comes to using different components. The legs of the tripod have strong clamps to secure it into position, this is very easy to use when deploying and takes a lot of time out of screwing them. It is able to compact into a fraction of the size when deployed, making it easier to carry around and store in smaller spaces. The included carry bag is very strong and provides padding and multiple compartments to protect the tripod and also store additional items. It has a shoulder strap and a handle which make it very easy to carry and travel with.Overall, this tripod punches above its weight and is in direct competition with the high end models, it is great for beginners and the experienced alike and there are no compromises in the quality.

Decent tripod for <$100, seems well-made and maybe worth a bit more since it's lightweight and easily packed while walking. But I would never trust my expensive cameras on it in any wind >10 knots unless attaching a bag of rocks to the hook. The legs don't spread quite as wide as better more expensive ones, but with weight attached in wind, I'd be fully confident with it. I also easily replaced the attached ball-head with my old Manfrotto ball-head with a snap-in plate and it fits perfectly (the new ball head has a wonky slide-in plate which I can see slipping/dropping the camera while trying to slide it in place). If using a cheaper 'dropper' camera, I'd have no issues at all with any of the above.
