For someone whose previous career has been dealing with offshore supply chain, I do know how to calculate the cost of goods.That said, at first I thought this plate is a bit pricey, but again...nowadays almost everything are over-priced.Appearance-wise, this plate looks exactly the same as the original mounting plate, but when you compare this side by side with the original, you can tell immediately: not only this mounting plate quality is more solid and it weights more than the original mounting plate comes with the tripod.

When I got my Nikon camera a few years ago I got a tripod with the head using this quick release mounting plate. I recently started doing some live streaming using my smart phone. I purchased this mounting plate so I could switch out my Nikon and smart phone on my tripod based upon what I am shooting.

Love the tripod it goes to.Took it off the camera and put it someplace specifically so I wouldn’t lose it.Here is a good nugget of information.Just leave it on the camera!!!

Works as expected. It's a tripod mount, nothing spectacular about mounts. nice metal piece, so it should last. WAY TOO EXPENSIVE for a simple tripod mount.

That I can attach this quick release to a Minolta x-700 camera that I purchased in 1983-84 and then attach it to a k & F concept tripod and shoot film whereas a few seconds ago I was shooting Digital images.
