This is a review for K&F CONCEPT 67mm Gold Diffusion 1/4 Filter Mist Soft Light & Warm Tone Effect Filter with 28 Multi-Layer Coatings for Video, Vlog, Photography(X-Series), ASIN B0G5PN5LQP

The filter arrived in a plastic wrapped cardboard box with the filter inside that round plastic case that K&F often uses. It arrived in perfect condition.

I tested this in my house with my Olympus EM5 mark ii and Olympus 12-40mm PRO II lens. I included four photos, the first and third without the filter, second and fourth with it.

The difference is very evident, even just in the jpegs straight out of the camera. The light is clearly more diffuse in the ones with the filter, and colors are overall softer, softer edges. Almost like the vaseline-on-the-lens effect. The photos are lovely, even being inside my house with the only light being sunlight on my cat.

I wanted one of these lenses for so long and was pleased to finally nab one. I went with the 67mm size and used a filter size adjuster from K&F to get it down to 62mm. It fit perfectly and looks so good! I really think this and the CPL are the only two filters I will bother with.

I think this one is def worth grabbing for those beautiful sunlit moments. I haven't tried it yet at sunset (it's winter here, plus I live in a valley, so there isn't much golden hour light), but I look forward to getting to!

This Gold-Mist filter from K&F Concept is exactly what I was looking for to add a cinematic look without going overboard. Unlike some overly dramatic "effect" filters, this one remains very controllable and doesn't consistently distort the image. It's far from an overly retro look: the effect is present, but always elegant.

In terms of build quality, K&F lives up to its reputation with excellent value for money. The 82mm thread fits my lenses perfectly, even with an adapter ring, without any play or cheap feel. The metal ring provides a good grip, and the filter comes in a protective hard case, convenient for carrying in a camera bag. The multi-layer coating is also a real plus: it minimizes fingerprints, resists light rain, and is easy to clean with the included cloth.

In use, the "Gold-Mist" effect doesn't blur the image. It primarily affects highlights, adding a subtle diffusion accompanied by a very pleasing golden warmth. Light sources (streetlights, reflections, interior lighting) gain in softness, without excessive color shift. The overall exposure remains unchanged, which is valuable for maintaining a consistent image.

In portraits, the filter provides a slight smoothing of the skin, softening minor imperfections while preserving excellent sharpness around the eyes. The result is natural, flattering, and particularly well-suited for lifestyle photography or video.

In short, it's a subtle, well-designed, and effective diffusion filter, ideal for those who want to add a cinematic and warm touch to their images without altering their essence. A very good choice for discerning creatives.

I've always enjoyed K&F Concept products for their nice balance point between quality and price and this filter is very much in line with my expectations from them.

While using filters like this has fallen out of favor because everyone will "just fix it in post" I still enjoy adding something like this to a lens and going out to be creative. I did my testing on a Nikon 85mm f/1.2, mounted on a Nikon Z9 over the course of a few days and I was very happy with the results.

First, the filter will add a softer feel to all your images, no matter the subject. There are many examples of this and I've included a landscape one in my review. This softness is sometimes a nice creative touch when you're using a clinically sharp lens especially in portrait photography. The other effect is a warming effect that is natural and not too overt. Also great for portraits and landscape in my opinion.

Construction is excellent, as expected from K&F, with a good tolerance ring that screws into the end of the lens without binding or sticking. The filter itself is light weight and easy to handle.

The price at the time of writing this review was reasonable and I felt like it delivered a good value for the price.

If you're wanting a little bit of creative class for you images and want to get away from the clinically sharp looks while not spending a lot on a filter, this should be an option to consider. Keeping it in my kit for my 82mm primes. Good job K&F!

The package includes:
- 1 x 72mm filter
- 1 x filter case
- 1 x cleaning cloth
- 1 x instruction leaflet

I won't go into the technical specifications since they're already extensively covered in the product description, but I'll share my experience and impressions.
I immediately tested this filter, taking advantage of the lighting conditions of the last few days. It's an "art"/"creative" filter, meaning it tends to create distinctive blurs and golden tones in shots.
The product is essentially a mist filter with the addition of gold particles that, when light passes through them, warm the image to a golden color, not the classic yellow-orange color.
The characteristic of the mist is to create a "fog" effect, which is accentuated in the highlights, where we have a sort of halo as if there were a light fog in front of the light source. At the same time, we have a slight loss of detail due to a sort of softness that is evident in the light colors until it almost completely fades in the contrasting or black areas. This is certainly not a problem or a defect, but rather its main characteristic, since it can be used to generate excellent highlights without having to go through post-production.

However, I found the use of the filter exceptional in the presence of LED lights shortly after sunset, as it creates a sort of very nostalgic image, where the LED lights take on the connotation of a softer light thanks to the halo that is generated, which is very reminiscent of the effect of neon lights. Furthermore, thanks to the golden cast provided by the filter, it pervades an overall warmth reminiscent of some very popular films of the '90s.

The filter is of excellent quality in terms of materials. With a Sony 18-105 I didn't notice any vignetting at minimum zoom, and the filter doesn't suffer from lens flare (as often happens with filters and artificial lighting).
If from a photographic point of view it's an excellent artistic filter, in video it's more than excellent. In videos it really manages to give the best of itself. It gives that retro touch that is clearly present in bright scenes and almost disappears in dark scenes, and we can play with this to create certain "vibes" during recording.

In conclusion, it's an excellent artistic filter, which, when used in the right scenario, gives us excellent effects. My rating is a full 5 stars.

This is a very unique creative filter that I have been using for street and portrait photography. I chose the 77mm size and it fits perfectly on my Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8 L lens. Installation is smooth and the threading feels precise without any resistance.

The build quality stands out right away. The filter frame feels solid, and both the metal construction and the glass element give it a premium feel. Even the round storage case feels well made and protective, which is always appreciated when carrying filters in a camera bag.

In terms of image results, the gold diffusion effect adds a subtle warm character and soft glow that works nicely for daylight portraits and creative street shots. It gives images a distinct look without completely overpowering the scene. Considering the materials and overall performance, the price feels very reasonable for the quality you get.

The truth is that I use mist filters a lot, especially on video. I like them because they help a lot to create atmosphere and give it that more cinematic touch that, let's be honest, photo optics alone don't usually have. The movie image is not as clinical or as “sharp”; although there is sharpness, it is a smoother, more pleasant sharpness. And that's where a mist filter fits very well to break up that typical hardness of photographic lenses a little.
Once tried, I have to say that I was quite surprised for the better. Of course, there is something very important to keep in mind: you have to work on the color temperature manually. If you don't, the camera will tend to compensate for that yellowish tone of the filter and the effect is greatly diluted. Outdoors, for example, you have to set the camera at 5500 K; if you leave it on automatic, the camera neutralizes the gold and it almost looks like you're wearing a normal mist.
When you adjust it well, the camera generates a very beautiful golden tone, nothing exaggerated, with an almost magical point. It is not an ugly or outdated yellow, it is very pleasant and gives a very clear personality to the image. In addition, the effect is not noticeable in all situations: with totally favorable light it is barely noticeable, but with backlights it is where the filter brings out the best in itself. That's when the magic really comes in.

Aside from the golden hue, the halo and the typical mist bloom are very well crafted. Highlights soften, blur gains character, and the overall image looks prettier, more organic. It's not a gross effect, it's quite fine, especially considering that it's a clearly effectual filter.

In terms of quality, the filter is very well built. The glass looks good, the ring is solid and it comes with a round hard cover that protects the filter quite well, something that is always appreciated when you carry several things in your backpack.
or photos it looks great, but where it really shines is on video, there it's spectacular. It gives a lot of creative play and can completely transform a scene without having to play too much in post-production.

Of course, it's not a filter to buy in several sizes, because it's a lot of money. Your thing is to buy it in the largest size you have and use adapter rings for the rest of the lenses. It's the most logical option.

What I said: a very interesting filter, with a beautiful effect, especially for video, well built and with its own personality, but clearly expensive for what it is. If the price doesn't hurt, it's a very good creative tool; if not, you have to think about it a lot.

The K&F CONCEPT Nano-Xcel 82mm Gold-Mist Filter is a crazy filter that transforms black mist into gold mist!
The effect is obvious but controlled: the point lights are transformed into a soft golden halo, very pleasant at night, in backlights or with artificial lighting. The result is a warm, almost “vintage” rendering, reminiscent of certain cinematographic films. It reduces contrast slightly and softens highlights, without blending the image.
It works well on the portrait: the skin appears more uniform, the imperfections are attenuated, but the subject remains defined, it is not a heavy or fake effect, rather an elegant glow that adds atmosphere.
The build quality is solid, Japanese AGC optical glass with good light transmission, no obvious chromatic dominance, with 28 layers of nano coating that help against reflections, water and micro-scratches. The thread is precise and does not cause assembly problems.

Conclusion: a very interesting filter, to try if you want a refined but always natural, warm and suggestive effect. The build quality is always TOP!
Pass the tests with 5 stars!

This K&F Concept 82mm Gold Diffusion lens filter is fabulous quality, just as all glass I have ever had from K&F Concept is.

I am a hobbyist photographer and only occasionally dabble in a little video and prior to being given the opportunity to try this filter, have only experimented with electronic film LUTs in post.

Having given this a try, the results are certainly excellent and quite probably better than using post processing filters as I have in the past, however I do feel that to my untrained eye, any discernible difference unfortunately does not warrant the cost of the filter, particularly as if I want to use different lenses, I need a different step up ring for each one (I decided to go that route rather than buying multiple filters to fit each lens).

The other issue is of course that if you film with the filter on, the effect is baked into the footage, so if you want to repurpose your footage or decide you don't want the gold diffused effect, then you're stuck.

However, if you know for certain that that's the look you're after, want the look done very, very well and aren't planning to swap lenses all the time, then for sure, you will not be disappointed with these K&F Concept filters. In my opinion, they are as good as you get.

As a professional photographer, I'm always looking for little tricks to soften the "overly sharp" and sometimes clinical look of digital photography. I mounted this K&F Gold-Mist filter on my 85mm lens to see what it could do, especially for portraits and creative street photography.

Frankly, I'm thrilled with the results. Where a classic Black Mist filter simply softens the image, this one adds a really flattering golden warmth to the skin. On my 85mm, it creates an almost dreamlike atmosphere without sacrificing sharpness. Details are preserved where they should be, but the highlights are just the right amount of soft and diffused.

It's the perfect tool when you're stuck and want to experiment with new aesthetics on the fly, without spending three hours in post-production. The build quality is excellent: it screws in perfectly, it's slim, and the included cleaning cloth is a welcome bonus. I really love how it looks on light sources in the evening; it gives an instant cinematic look that makes all the difference.

In summary:

✅ Pros:

- A beautiful and warm "glow" effect.

- Superb glass quality, no strange reflections.

- Perfect for creative work and portraits.

- Easy mounting on professional lenses without vignetting.

❌ Cons:

- The effect can be a bit strong if you already have very yellow light.

Requires a little practice to get your exposure right.

Classic diffusion filter in digital times — conscious decision

Of course, the question is why, in the age of powerful digital filters and extensive post-processing tools, you should still use a classic lens filter at all. The K&F CONCEPT Gold Diffusion 1/4 is clearly aimed at users who want to define their look as soon as they shoot — and not just later on the computer.

Character instead of neutrality

The Gold Diffusion 1/4 is not a neutral “always on” filter. It requires conscious, creative use and a good understanding of when the effect makes sense. Used correctly, it creates a pleasant, slightly soft look that softens contrasts, gently diffuses highlights and gives the picture a subtle, cinematic appearance without visibly losing sharpness.

The filter can show its strengths, especially when it comes to portraits, available light scenes or cinematic subjects.

Benefits directly in shooting

A significant added value is that the desired look is created directly in the camera. This significantly reduces the need for complex post-processing and ensures consistent results across an entire sequence. This is a real advantage, especially for video recordings, as the diffusion effect is uniform and natural.

Processing and coating

The optical glass combined with the multi-nano coating (Nano-Xcel) makes a high-quality impression. Reflections and loss of contrast are well controlled, color shifts remain subtle and deliberately in the “gold” character of the filter. Mechanically, the 77 mm filter fits the lens cleanly and without playing.

Conclusion:

4.5 out of 5 stars: The K&F CONCEPT Gold Diffusion 1/4 is a tool for targeted image design, not for permanent use. Anyone who knows when and how to use Diffusion creatively will get very convincing results straight from the camera — with less post-processing effort and a clearly defined look.
