I ordered this K&F CONCEPT 82mm Variable Short Line Star Lens Filter to play around with photographing holiday lights. While I got it through the review program I still consider price. This one is pretty inexpensive and I figured even if it wasn't the highest quality it would be a fun experiment. Well, the quality far exceeds my expectations AND the price, a very good value.
It's a well made lens that comes in a protective case and they throw in a few of their cleaning cloths as a bonus. Its screws on and off easily without feeling as though it would come prematurely loose.
The images I've made haven't suffered from any color or clarity issues, just the added star on the bright points of light.

The quality of this filter is a lot higher than the price would indicate. It's built impeccably well, and it has excellent clarity. It fits the lens perfectly, screws on smoothly, stays on securely, and twists smoothly so you can adjust the angle of the flares.
The effect of this filter is quite subtle, but when used correctly (there's a bit of a learning curve), the results are striking. I never expected to need a star filter, but as it turns out, this one is exactly what I need to enhance and emphasize the shininess of some products I photograph without making them look gaudy. I'm sure I'll be reaching for it often!

The K&F 6-point star filter fits nicely on the Sigma 18-50 lens. Like other K&F filters, it features a large knurled grip and well-machined parts for easy use. The filter creates short, squat stars, giving the photo a touch of romance. The effect is perfect for Christmas lights or street lights, as it is not so overbearing as to distract. The best part is that it has very little effect on the rest of the photo's focus. Attached are two shots, one with the filter and one without, for comparison.

Great Quality Glass With A Nice Effect!
As with all the K&F Concept items I own, this is made with top quality materials and it shows in every use. The glass is very nice, ultra smooth and not an imperfection to be found. Threads on to all of my 67MM gear without issues, and has a nice precise thread. A nice pouch is included to keep it safe when not in use, and great packaging as with many K&F items that can be reused as a photo frame to cut down on waste. A good choice for those looking to add a nice star effect to their photos, that works especially well with Christmas pictures.

I ordered this K&F CONCEPT 82mm Variable Short Line Star Lens Filter (6 Point), Cross Screen Starburst Filter-18 Layer Coating Optical Glass with 3 Cleaning Cloth (K Series) to use in specific and limited situations.
I own quite a few "special effects" filters and the impulse to overuse them can be almost overwhelming at times. I've discovered that careful and judicious use of these filters can add to a portfolio but overuse marks you as a total beginner.
There are times when I want to add a star pattern to a point source of light, and this filter from K&F Concept does well. The filter produces a 6-point star pattern with evenly spaced spikes. The length of the spikes is well-controlled so that they do not overwhelm the elements of your photo. The quality of the glass is good. The filter did not introduce flare, distortions, or softness to my images.
If you are looking for a star filter, this one from K&F is worth looking at. I always recommend that you purchase any filter in a size large enough to fit your largest diameter lens and use stepup rings to fit it to smaller diameter lenses. Larger filters cost more upfront but they will be a "buy one filter for all my lenses" situation.

Yup, no complaints... K&F does it again by releasing a product that works perfectly fine and is somewhat reliable. The lens filter itself feels pretty well build, I can't tell if it's all glass layers or not, but the part that is visible and touchable feels like a good quality glass. It mounts properly on a 77mm threaded lens, works with other filters as well in case you'd like to use a CPL and this (not sure why you'd do that...) or a ND Filter + this Star Lens Filter.
The effect it creates is really nice, it makes light sources look like christmas stars, probably something you'd use to take photos of christmas lights without any Post effects.

The filter is well made. The images are clear and the effect is limited purely to the light sources. Light bulbs, for example, appear as four-pointed stars, and the orientation can be changed by turning the filter. Very harmonious and perfect to celebrate the upcoming Christmas season.

I’m always looking for a way to make some of my photos look unique so that’s why this filter caught my attention. I don’t own an expensive camera, so I’ve been putting my hope in any lenses or filters I might purchase. I have never used a starburst type filter and have realized that it will take time for me to obtain the effects I’m looking for. I feel this filter will work best with night photography which right now I don’t do a lot of. I have used it mostly at dusk and does an excellent job with car headlights and traffic lights. Like most new lenses and filters I have gathered, I’m sure when I spend more time with this, I will be able to produce some of the photo results I’ve been looking for. I will mention that I have purchased several filters made by K&F including camera batteries and tripods and never have had any issues with the quality of those items.

FANTASTIC VALUE AND SOLID PERFORMANCE
Building out a full collection of lens filters can get incredibly expensive really fast. That's why I'm always on the lookout for brands like K&F Concept that can deliver a quality product at a much more reasonable price point. This 4 point star filter is a perfect example of that.

As a newbie photographer trying different lighting and filter effects, this was a great filter to use for night shots with lights. I chose the 67mm filter which fits over my standard lens. In trying different conditions, I found the best results when shooting with higher contrast between light and dark. I had great results shooting night scenes with city lights and Christmas tree lights. I also tried indoor shots that I thought would work, but there was not enough contrast for the filter to be effective. It turned out to be a great learning experience for me, at a very affordable price. The filter produced a nice star effect with each light; the short lines were just about right for my liking. It was a nice sparkle effect that made the image pop. I also like that it came with cleaning cloths, although I prefer what I already use.
