62mm Gold Streak Effect Lens Filter (2mm) Anamorphic Optical Glass Light Flare Effect Filter for Camera Lens Nano-Xcel Series
SKU: KF01.2107
I am new to K&F filters but I have acquired 3 in the last month and have found them all to be of very high quality. This K&F Concept 72mm Gold Streak Effect Lens Filter is no exception.
The lens is well-made and fits and functions well.
The effect of the lens is very good.
Like all special effect lenses, it should be used sparingly and after much practice.

As you'd expect from a K&F product it works like you'd expect. Does a nice job of creating those light streak from most light sources. You can rotate the lens to angle each light streak however you want for your project. Haven't taken any photos with it just yet but I can tell this will serve me well. Was surprised the carrying case was abit bigger than I thought.

A curious filter. When placed in front of the camera lens, you achieve a linear flare effect similar to that obtained with anamorphic lenses, which adds an attractive and artistic visual style to the shots, and if you plan it well, even a cinematic one.
The filter clearly has quality. Among its layers, it includes gold filaments that are responsible for creating those lines of light in the images. This works especially well when working with bright lights or reflections, generating flares. However, it's not as effective at night. The lines of light can become too prominent when there are many light sources, such as streetlights or car headlights, which can saturate the image and make the composition too confusing.
It's an effect that can save a lot of time and give better results than what would be done in post-production, but it definitely needs to be used sparingly. It's certainly not an anamorphic lens, but it looks good, especially on a budget.

Essentially, with this filter, we're trying to imitate the effect of anamorphic lenses. The idea of achieving that cinematic touch in my photos without having to invest in an expensive lens seemed very interesting to me. And the truth is, overall, the experience has been positive.
What I liked most about the filter is how easily the golden highlights are achieved. Simply by placing it in front of the lens, you can see how it interacts with the light, creating those characteristic lines. It's true that the effect varies greatly depending on the situation. Sometimes, with spotlights and dark backgrounds, the highlights are truly striking, with a warm and pleasant golden cast. However, on other occasions, especially with more complex backgrounds or a lot of ambient light, the effect becomes more subtle, and is often lost. I imagine that through experimentation, you can achieve effects even more similar to those achieved with anamorphic lenses.

I am a fan of K&F Concept and love the fact that they can produce quality products at affordable prices.
I obtained this filter with an 82 mm diameter thread, and it attaches to the lens beautifully. However, like a lot of filters, it is easier to access with the lens hood off the lens. In this case, I have found that better results are achieved with the lens hood off. The more light across the filter, the better the result.
A nice storage case is provided with the filter, so there is very little chance of it getting damaged when it is tossed into a camera bag.
Further use, and, some decent weather, should see my results improving!

Although sold to simulate anamorphic lens flares, I find this effect more useful for creating diagonal rays of light around lamps.
The filter is of good quality, it screws and turns smoothly, and it holds its orientation well. It is threaded on the front to allow for the addition of another filter to the lens.
It seems a little more expensive than the competition, and having become a fan of K&F Concept, I haven't yet tried streak filters from other brands!

The K&F Concept Nano-X Series Gold Streak Anamorphic Effect Filter is simply magnificent! With its 67mm diameter, the filter creates beautiful golden streaks and anamorphic light reflections that give my images a unique, cinematic look. The craftsmanship is top-notch, and the gold streak design brings impressive visual effects to my photos and videos. The filter is easy to handle and fits perfectly on my lens. Ideal for anyone who wants to add a special flair to their shots. Highly recommended for creative photographers and filmmakers!

When I was a boy, in the 80s, my father's photographic kit was full of special effects filters, including the one to make stars around street lamps and the one to make streaks.
Then, aesthetic taste changed, and these types of special effects fell into disuse.
With the advent of digital, many physical filters were replaced by just as many effects generated by post-production software.
However, given the return to vogue of "star", "cross" and like this "gold streak" filters, mounted on the lens and not generated by the computer, evidently digital effects are still not as satisfactory as optical ones.
I bought this K&F out of curiosity, thanks to the Vine program. It is part of the "good" line of the Chinese manufacturer, the one called Nano-X. I still haven't fully understood the difference between the three series of K&F filters, Nano-K, Nano-D and Nano-X, except for the increasing presence of anti-reflection layers, 18, 24, 28.
The quality of the optical glass used should also be superior.
The fact is that this Nano-X Gold Streak does its job well, creating exactly the effect for which it is sold, that is, the golden lines around the point lights, without muddying the image and without introducing dominants or muddying the image.
However, I have noticed two problems:
1) you have to be very careful not to tighten the filter to death otherwise it becomes very difficult to unscrew it. Just bring it to the stop, it doesn't unscrew by itself.
2) in some situations the focus can be fooled by the golden stripes. It is not a defect of the filter, but it is physiological. Better then to set the focus to single point, also because with these filters, usually, you take photos of urban landscapes or in any case static.
The construction is really good, with a very nice matte paint (perhaps it is also the one that makes it harder to unscrew the filter) and a wonderful looking lens treatment, as well as water repellent.
The case is a bit large because it is intended for all diameters (mine is 67, but the case can also accommodate those of 82), but well made and with a rack that does not make the filter fall even if we open the box upside down.

This thing is really fun to shoot with - love the gold streaks it makes! It doesn't have a wide application range, but its a REALLY fun lens filter to use to make some things POP in a golden way!
