Since I purchased this device for my family with younger children, the advantage of digital microscopes—no need to create a section—is a deciding factor for me. The material is simply placed underneath, and with a practiced hand, it's visible on the display within 15 seconds. It's truly child's play. However, the display is quite small, which makes it easier to use but slightly limits the imagination of the little ones. Still, it's a good companion for first scientific expeditions into nature and the environment. I haven't tested the insect compartment yet. But it makes sense to me to release living objects back into nature with the kids.
