This microscope is very nice quality and comes in a really nice carrying case with protective padding. I don't know much about microscopes, but as a mother who homeschools a high schooler and a middle schooler I need a good microscope for their science projects. I have a couple of cheaper microscopes that I purchase from a big box store and they fail in comparison to this microscope. The magnification options are wonderful, it comes with several things on slides to look at through the microscope that even my teenage boys found very interesting to look at. Overall I am very please with this product and would recommend it to anyone in the market for one.

I'm still learning all the ins and outs of the included software, but my goodness this is the real McCoy! I figured I could use this to improve my heat treatment and sharpening techniques for forging and blade smithing. Once I am confident I wont ruin this by installing a different sample holder, I'm certain it would fill that roll well. There are 2 lighting options, from below or above, and both are adjustable. The sample holder it comes with is finely positionable in the x and y over a pretty generous run. The electronic eye piece looks like it should have had an O-ring on it to keep it secure and block dust from getting inside the microscope housing, but it didn't. That is the only reason I can see to dock a star from this tool.

The control software for the electronic eyepiece appears to originate from countries generally hostile to the United States, so if that sets off warning flags for your digital security, just be aware of that I guess.

The Kentfaith Compound Microscope is a wonderful entry-level microscope that allows you to peer into the strange, interesting, and uniquely beautiful world of microbiology! This microscope comes with a decent protective case for transport, 4 objectives: 4x, 10x, 40x, and one 100x oil immersion objective (look up proper use of oil immersion objectives, you can create problems via improper use of immersion oil), a pair of 10x eyepieces, a pair of 25x eyepieces, a generous amount of slides, a generous amount of cover glass, a cellphone mount, some prepared sample slides, and several other accessories of varying quality. I would advise you use the 10x eyepieces in conjunction with the provided objectives, topical logic would dictate the 25x would provide a lot more magnification but in reality you loose resolution for negligible magnification (lookup "empty magnification" as it pertains to microscopy). Now at one point I was wanting to "throw in the towel" on resolution or clarity in reference to image quality vs price point...hang in there like I did, read the (albeit not very thorough) manual and do a little research on microscopy using this microscopes features as your reference point, and I think you will have a more satisfying initial experience. Now the price point may seem high for what this microscope is and isn't capable of, but I researched what "good" compound microscopes go for, and the cost is significantly higher. All-in-all I am very happy with this entry-level microscope and I gladly recommend it to the curious, the casual, and beginner users such as myself. The price of admission is well worth it once you've dialed everything in and begin peering into the fascinating world that exists within our own world!

I’ve had a microscope since I was 10 years old and love to investigate all of the materials that surround myself. This microscope comes with three different lenses, and a set of slides already made for you as well as blank slides, and covers slips to make your own. All of the accoutrements needed to create your own and a small cleaning cloth for the glass. The only thing I wish they would incorporate war that’s her instructions that were user-friendly. Otherwise an excellent microscope.

This would be perfect microscope for college students or any lab work.
The microscope head was packaged detached for shipping, and I found a couple of screw fell out from the mounting bracket, and I had to look for it in vinyl bag. Lucky it didn't get lost - hence minus one star.
Once I attached head, everything went well.
It's good as my college year microscope that I used in lab. It comes with phone mount, so you can take picture via top eye piece. Comes with collection of sample slides, USB power brick and power cord (unfortunately, it's not USB C, you you need to make sure you keep the cord safe), couple of 25x and 10x eye pieces, 2x Barlow, and other slide making accessories ( top cover, water droplet, etc.,).
One of the thing I wish it came is blank slide. It has collection of slides, but they are all already made, and cannot be used for your own. Not sure why they include slide cover when they don't include blank slides?
The image is very clear based on included sample slides.
Adjustment is very accurate and smooth. Slide mount is very smoothly operating.
I could not tell difference between this microscope and one that I used in my college lap (which cost a lot more) functionally and/or image quality wise.
Highly recommend.

A decently built scope with some advance features are drawbacks.

The main issue is with the higher magnification lenses that just aren’t well made enough to perform sufficiently. The way the scope is built you could actually upgrade it.

Overall the exit pupil is small for a laboratory quality scope but sufficient for beginners. But you don’t want to frustrate beginners either with bad equipment or you risk them losing interest.

The precise adjustments of the slide platform are nice.

This is the microscope I WISH I'd gotten when I was a child. This one is even cooler than the one in my highschool biology class.

It does say it's for adults, definitely not for young children, but my 14 yo grand is old enough to appreciate this and take the extra care that is needed.

I absolutely love this thing. I've always wanted a good microscope and grew up getting those little kits which really sparked my interest in science. I'm still learning the best ways to use this but we've found tardigrades and microscopic mites searching fruit and water from our pond. My youngest is really taking an interest in biology now which is a total win for me as a parent. Comes with a padded carrying case, blank slides and even some pre-made slides of interesting things just like the kits from my childhood. I also purchased an attachment that plugs directly into my dslr camera and takes pictures directly from the eyepiece. Lots of adjustments to fit plenty of users including children. Highly recommend this thing for the value.

Great aid for my 5th and 6th graders when talking about cells and microbes. It was a great visual aid, and all my students were able to have fun taking turns using it. It's pretty much the exact same as ones I used to use in high school and college. I was able to build a whole lesson around just using this microscope. They learned to adjust the slides, lab safety, and even how to prepare their own slides. I love that this comes with quite a few prepared slides, and the ability to make your own slides was so great for getting my students actively engaged i the lesson. They wanted to look at all types of things close up, like sand finger fingernails, and candy. áreally special pertuinity for encouraging curiosity and deepening learning. One more thing I really appreciate about this microscope is that it came with a phone holder. I have some students on Zoom and they were actually able to feel apart of the class and were able to look into the microscope as if they were present.
