As an amateur I am still comparing images to see the difference. My eye isn't very well trained yet, but these are supposed to offer a gentle softening effect to the image. I am using it on a Canon 200D (SL2) 18-55mm kit lens. Therefore I ordered the 58mm. I can say that the glass looks great and it was a perfect fit on my lens. There are little sparkles in the glass since it is a "shimmer" effect. I can't wait to practice more with this filter, especially at "golden hour", sunset--which is supposed to be a beautiful time to photograph.

This is a very nice soft diffusion shimmer effect filter. This is very well made and engineered. The effect is subtle but very pleasant, the best part is it softens without softening the focus. The image is still sharp, but with a bit lower contrast, a bit of a glow in the highlights, and slightly more pleasing bokeh. Not to mention it can soften the skin a bit, which saves allot of time in post production. The overall effect just adds a bit of a dreamy quality without being over the top or too obvious. I am a fan of K&F filters, and I am a fan of this shimmer diffusion. I am grateful to have it as part of my creative pallet. Well made, well engineered, creative effects filter. Well done again K&F.

They did a great job packaging this filter, it feels like K&Fs premium product. If you don't know much about glimmer glass, this filter diffuses harsh light sources and creates a soft, dreamy like glow. It will help take away some of the sharpness that comes from today's super high quality digital cameras. K&F did a great job with this filter, it exceeded my expectations!

I have the K&F 1/4 and 1/8 diffusion filters. This is slightly different. This keeps most of the sharpness, but creates a glowing effect.
This will be useful when shooting video, getting closer to a film look.
IT comes in a hard plastic case that holds the filter securely.
As with all the K&F filters I have so far, it has nice ridges on the edge to help grip it when mounting or unscrewing.
I'll be using this for video quite a bit.

This shimmer diffusion filter is a very good filter. It does what it is intended to do at a reasonable price point. I didn't think that I'd like it as much as I do. The filter itself is well made. The fit and finish are top notch and the threads are smooth. The filter screws on and off with zero binding. I like that there are ridges so you get a can get a secure grip when handling the filter. The effect that the filter has is to soften the image. This is subtle, but definitely noticeable. Depending on the subject and the conditions you're shooting in, the filter can impart something of a warm glow to the image. It's a little hard to explain, but you'll know it when you're using it. For nighttime photography, it can reduce the harshness of light sources to give a more pleasing image. Along with the filter, I also like the plastic case that it comes in. It holds the filter securely and will provide for safe storage. I'm really glad I got this filter. Five stars.

I have always tried to replicate the soft glow in night photography, I never could get it right, it wasnt until I used this that I realized others were most likely also using a filter. K&F has been getting great rating in the ND filter area so I wanted to try this. It's a nice quality glass, I didnt notice any flare or color cast. this will sit nicely with the K&F ND Filter pouch.

I'm using this filter on my Q2Monochrome. Why would I want less contrast on a Leica lens when I paid so much for those highly discernable Leica lenses. For this filter does bring down contrast and produce halo effects like a single coated manual lens from back in the day. Well. sometimes, especially in Black and White photography, I feel like the Leica Summilux lens on the Q2 is too sharp. I can correct for color variations with color filters but it is harder to correct for less sharpness in camera. This filter does two things, produces less contrast between areas, between boundries or edges of things, and gives them a softer feel. It is also capable of produces halos or glows around specular highlights or bight spot background lights. That's when the halo effect or glow seems to work best. So this filter gets five stars for what it intends to do, it executes well.

I love K&F Concept filters--they're well made, functional and sold at an excellent price point. I ordered this one for use on my Nikon Z-30 and it works great. The shimmery effect is awesome--so many cool things you can do with it. Highly recommended!
