I thought for a long time whether I should buy the filter, but from the very first photo with the filter I was super happy with the result of the picture look! The lights in the picture become nice and soft and there is a kind of "glow" around the light source. I've also used the filter several times when filming. The filter creates an image that you can't get anywhere else, it looks similar to film productions. Can recommend the filter with a clear conscience!
Unique look! Unique look!

In every respect, this K&F Black Diffusion 1/4 filter is a wonderful filter. Well made, well finished, clear and perfect glass, thin and light etc etc. You get a very good filter for your money. The question is really how good is the diffusion effect, especially in the center of the image where a face is likely to be placed. My testing on some freshly budded red buds found the edge to edge diffusion quality to be subtle and excellent. The included photo is 100% cropped to capture the quality in the center of the frame. I hope the reproduction on Amazon is good enough to convince you of the quality as well. This is a good product and easy to recommend.
A subtle effect

"Technically" the filter is absolutely fine, it comes well packaged in a padded plastic folding box, can be easily screwed onto a 77mm filter thread and, at least in my first test, caused no visible reflections.

However, the effect is really very subtle, you have to look very closely to see a difference between a photo with and without a filter.

The contrast is reduced very slightly, one has the feeling that a very light fog is covering the subject. Background blur (bokeh) is emphasized a little more.

I could imagine using the filter on flattering portraits or romantic wedding pictures to give them a very slightly dreamy look - but the effect is really very, very small.
The image doesn't really become blurry either, only the micro-contrast is somewhat subdued.

A landscape picture such as the edge of a forest in the morning fog could also benefit from it...

So, now compare the two quick pictures of my tomato bushes and try to find out which of the two pictures has a filter and which one has no filter...have fun included!
Very subtle effect...

I have this 57mm Sigma lens for my Fujifilm X-T30 and I am super happy with the results. The effect is subtle, but that's exactly what I wanted to achieve with the pen.

It uses soft colors and creates cinematic effects. I also bought the soft one and I love it. 100% recommended.
I love this filter

I use this filter for concert and nightclub photos because it creates a highlight effect on ambient lights and makes them more visible in photos. Lasers, for example, look incredible.
The construction and quality of this filter are very good. It is a glass that does not affect the quality of the photos and has a thread that is very suitable for mounting on the lens. It is lightweight and has a filter box for storage.
I really recommend this Blackmist 1/4 filter to edit photos delicately.

The filter is easy to apply and creates a dreamy, slightly diffused look, especially with lights. I've recently started taking photos in a more cinematic style and this filter really adds to that style. As you can see in the third image attached, the bokeh of the neon sign is diffuse and has a nice soft glow. This is exactly what I was looking for! I've attached two more photos so you can see the difference (1st without filter, 2nd with).
If you're looking for a very dramatic look, check out K&F Concept's other filters. This one is on the subtle side. I love it and would recommend!

I tried the 46mm diameter filter on a Nikon Z30 with a Nikkor 16-50mm lens. The filter fits perfectly into the filter thread of the lens.
When held against the light, the coating of the filter glass becomes visible. A green shimmer can be seen, which indicates an anti-reflective coating. The glass itself was delivered in perfect condition.
I did not notice a reduction in light intensity through the filter. With the same exposure time, aperture and light amplification, I could not see any difference in the brightness of the image.
Well, how does the filter work, or rather, where is the best place to use it?
When photographing or filming direct light, such as light tubes or LED bars, the light is scattered by the filter in such a way that it looks like fog around the light source. The areas around the light source become more diffuse and the light source itself becomes very blurry. For the best effect, as much light source as possible should be visible in the picture. Objects in front of the light source are only slightly distorted by the filter.
The first test shots convinced me of this filter and I am totally enthusiastic. It's definitely an asset to my recordings.

Filters must always be carefully considered. A filter is not reversible in postprocessing. Inserting an effect later, on the other hand, takes little effort. The diffuse filter from K&F Concept has a neutral white balance. There is a very slight loss of sharpness. On the one hand, this is of course due to the fact that a filter usually reduces the sharpness somewhat, but on the other hand it is also due to the desired effect of the slightly diffuse light representation. The filter manages this quite well within the framework of its 1/4 gradation. However, it must be mentioned that this is also possible with a mouse click in the image processing. Thus, the filter only makes sense for the group of people who want to control the effect directly in the process of creating the image.

In terms of processing, a clear recommendation. The thread runs clean.

Ultimately, everyone must be clear about the meaning.
You can argue about the sense, the quality is good as usual. You can argue about the sense, the quality is good as usual.

It is a great filter for its price that highlights its use in night situations with very contrasting and strong lights and thanks to the filter it can produce good fog.

If you're using it for daytime portraits and texture softening it will probably fall short (I haven't used it for that purpose yet), but for the examples I've described and added photos to, it is a filter that you must have in your repertoire because it offers a lot of latitude.

For the price it's worth it, it's worth the wait to try other more expensive ones, but you need to know what you're looking for before you buy anything.
