You never really know if something like a little filter can actually provide protection for your lens. My bag holding my camera fell. I checked it out and the filter was shattered but the lens seemed perfectly okay. Don’t know if it prevented any damage to the lens but I’m very happy I had it on! Whew!

While UV filters can improve your picture in some situations, most people buy them to protect their lens from splashes and dust without changing the image. This one seems good for that, it fits nicely on my sony 24-70 zoom lens and doesn't interfere with using either the lens hood or the original lens cap.
There is hardly any change in the amount of light that gets through to the camera and the UV filter can help to reduce atmospheric haze in long scenic shots and make the image a bit sharper.
This filter also has a water repellant coating, I haven't had to test this yet but if it works like the one on my glasses you won't have to wipe it if it gets wet. Any water that doesn't fall off immediately can be blown off with a hand blower so you don't have to touch the filter with a cloth.

After shooting this, I didn't notice any quality difference in my photos. I took a lot of great photos after installing it but not sure if this cover would have much to do with that as I use it to just better protect my lens. I really love the quality, this screwed my camera lens on quite snugly (the tip) with no issues and I appreciated finding out that the size is based on the little 0 symbol on the front of my lens. That's how I found out I need 67mm. Overall very happy.

Nicely engineered. The filter frame is fairly thin and does not cast any shadow or vignette on the two Olympus PRO lenses I have tried them on. The glass looks excellent - thin, uniform and has superb coatings. I bought the 24 coating nano series - there is a level above this, but I honestly would not pay for it. The 24 layer multicoat has little to no adverse effect on light transmission - if anything it removes some glare and haze (IMO at least). I bought as protection when working close-up - but they are so good I see no reason to remove even in critical lighting and focus situations. Excellent value.

I have a Black Mist Pro 1/8 filter that I use quite a bit, but wanted to try a 1/4 for a more pronouced "bloom" in connection with a dream sequence I was shooting. I saw the K&F 1/4 black diffusion filter for about 20% less than the cost of a Black Mist Pro, so I thought I would give it a try. I've used K&F filters before and have always been pleased with them, even though they are perceived by some "pros" as lower-quality filters. I'm happy to say that the K&F 1/4 black diffuser is every bit as good as the Black Mist Pro equivalent, achieving exactly the effect I was after with no distortion or color cast. And if you take into consideration the magnetic docking system, I would say it's even better than the Black Mist Pro filter (this is the first magnetic filter I have used, and I'm hooked). The price to value ratio for this filer is excellent.
