This is a fantastic filter. I was hesitant to buy this for my Kowa TSN-88 spotting scope because I wasn't sure if it would fit, if it was good quality, or if I really needed it. I was testing my scope on a hot, cloudy day and couldn't quite make out the street sign two miles away on the hill. I put this filter on and things got a little clearer, the mirage a little less, and I could actually read the sign (Lane Ends Merge Left). Very happy with this and I didn't have to pay double or triple for the Howa, B&W, or Kowa filters. The only downside is that the scope's sunshade won't extend with this filter in place, but I imagine that would be the same with any other filter as well.

I've heard varying opinions on the benefits of keeping a UV filter on the end of a camera lens. Many people say it's smart because if you drop the camera, replacing a filter is much cheaper than repairing an expensive lens. I've heard others (particularly professionals) say it doesn't make sense to buy an expensive lens and then put a cheap piece of glass in front of it that will just degrade the image. Those folks say keeping the hood on the lens will provide plenty of protection and if you have an expensive lens, it should be insured against damage anyway. I've invested in some good Canon L-series lenses so I'm torn on the best approach. I've been leaning towards going without the UV filter, but I still want one if I'm somewhere like the beach and sand or dirt is blowing. So if I'm going to put another piece of glass on the lens, I want to make sure it's high quality and this filter meets that requirement. You can tell when a vendor has put a lot of thought and care into a product and it shows throughout the process. This filter comes in very nice packaging and they provide a high quality case that has a magnetic latch and a nifty ribbon on the side that you pull to extract the filter from the case. This keeps you from having to reach in and possibly get fingerprints on the filter. Great design! As to the quality of the filter itself, I don't see any aberrations in the image when I use it. This line of filters from K&F aren't cheap so they won't be for everyone, but if you are taking your photography seriously, you should consider this product.

I like to use UV filters for lenses that aren't in the studio enviornment. Nothing sucks more than having the elements contimanate your lens and having to hault the shoot to fix it. The major downside to this approach is the bulk and loss of image quality with inexpensive UV filters.

This filter perfectly addresses that need. It has a very slim profile that is barely noticable - yet still functions great for attaching the lens cap. The small profile also produces less distance between your glass and the filter.

I haven't noticed any ghosting, chromatic aberattions, or other distortions from using this filter. This is very rare - and marks the K&F as a winner in my book.

With modern cameras, the use of a UV filter is actually no longer necessary. I therefore use the UV filter more to protect the front lens against scratches and dirt. I did not observe a frequently reported reduction in image quality (when using filters), so protecting the expensive lens is more important to me.

I could not detect any color differences thanks to the multiple coating. However, I could not observe any gain in contrast and sharpness, but this is more due to the good coating of my lens and the use on a modern DSLM. This will probably be different on an "old" analog camera. Unfortunately, I was unable to test this because I do not have a lens with a suitable filter diameter.

The filter can also be used on stronger wide-angle lenses thanks to its slim brass mount. I use the filter with a 24-70mm lens on full format. Due to the design, the minimum focal length should be around 17mm on full format. The mount is cleanly processed and fits well into the thread on the lens.

The filter comes well packaged in a sturdy leather bag. Once you have removed the filter and bag, the outer packaging can also be used as a picture frame. The delivery includes a stand and an additional cleaning cloth for the filter. Everything looks very high-quality and expensive.

Simple and clean is the way. I've learned that some cheaper alternatives add distortion or even discoloration to your photos and I don't want something that keeps me in the touch ups longer than I need to be. K&F has really done something simple and beautiful here. No distortion. No discoloration. And I can let this live on my lens to keep it safe and offer an extra line of defense in the unfortunate event that something happens. Quality of the build is nothing short of what you'd expect from K&F. Everything fits into place, screws on nicely, and the glass feels like it's secured into the metal housing. Definitely recommend even with the other massive amounts of competition out there.

I received the UV filter from K&M for free to test as part of the Vine program. I was happy about it, as I no longer have a suitable UV filter for my always-on lens.

Even the packaging is very high quality and the bag that comes with it is very well thought out and great to use. You can even make a pretty frame out of the packaging.

A microfiber cloth for cleaning is also included.

With digital camera technology, UV filters are basically no longer necessary, as the sensor itself is already protected from UV radiation and the optics don't have to do as much as with analogue technology. Lens hoods are sufficient to protect the lens. In addition, you don't have another layer of glass on the lens, which generally results in a loss of quality. However, the lens is then not protected from dust particles or grains of sand. Since I often lie on the floor when taking portraits and it is often quite dusty, I still like to use it in this case.

So far, I have not noticed any negative effects on my pictures.

Really high quality filter at a reasonable price.

This is the flagship series from K&F, so if you want the absolute best filter they produce, this is it. It has a brass ring, which is slightly harder than aluminum. That makes it more resilient to binding on the threads, and makes the filter itself feel much nicer in the hand. It has inner and outer threading, so I can stack filters, or clip my lens cap directly to it. That's great for me as I don't have to ever take this filter off. The main point of this filter for me is protection, and it's so much nicer having a high end piece of glass to put on my high end lens rather than most UV filters that are a piece of plastic. I tried to make it produce flares, and I couldn't get any. This is the closest thing to a perfect UV filter that I've ever used. I also really like the design of the case. It has a pull string on the side that'll push the filter out so I don't have to worry about getting fingerprints on it. Overall a very high end filter. Highly recommended.

Recently, I have been using K&F backpacks and camera accessories more and more.
I have used several lens filters and they all work perfectly. The coating is beautiful and dust is easy to remove.

The filter comes very well packaged in a box that can be converted into a picture frame. The actual storage takes place in a very high-quality leather case with an "ejection strap" so that you don't have to stick your fingers into the filter disc when taking it out.

The filter and its mechanics are very elegantly made, so the filter thread can be easily screwed in without any scraping noises and frequent attempts to attach it, despite the compact dimensions ("Slim"), and can be loosened again with moderate force after tightening, provided the internal thread of the optics is not damaged and is of the same high quality. The grooved areas are really helpful here, as you don't slide along the filter!

The "glass" of the Nano-X Pro series should be beyond reproach and be among the highest quality in terms of quality and workmanship. Of course, as a "normal snapper" this cannot be tested in detail without a laboratory, but the fact that it can be unscrewed without anything noticeably changing is a solid basis. The UV filter is of course only important for purist color film photographers, but it is not a problem for digital photography with this level of light transmission. Here, cleverly, the "protective filter" has also been included in the official product name. Otherwise, the filter is easy to clean with suitable accessories and does not seem to be a dust magnet.

I personally use the filter with a Z7 on the Z85 1.8 as a protective filter - I do not notice any loss; everything is still "pin sharp" and the bokeh is neutral, even in stronger (back)light conditions. However, true qualities only become apparent after various rougher sessions and filter cleanings...

Conclusion: If you want to play it safe with filters and really want to screw something high quality onto your optics, you have certainly found a potential candidate here.
