The black piece you see in the photo is a lens cap. The transparent piece, that is under that, serves as a filter of sorts. The cap under that is more of a free pass through attachment designed to stick to either the filter or the lens cap depending on what your goal is.

Basically it's all magnets, so it was really easy to set this up. I just screwed in the base, then the filter snapped on no problem, then the lens cap too snapped on without any issue.

The quality of this set is great. The look of it is awesome too. I shook my camera a bit and the cap did not fall off. Seems to be a great alternative to the locking mechanism that comes with normal caps.

Overall, I'm really happy with this set.

Magnetic Filter Attachment, quick and easy to attach or remove from the camera lens.
THe 1/4 Black Mist filter is fantastic and definitely one of my favorites. The Filter comes with 3 items

1) The Filter Ring that threads on to the lens end
2) The Magnetic filter
3) Magnetic Filter Lens Cap.

Common Question(s):
Can you use the canon lens cap with the Magnetic ring installed (YES)
Can you use the Canon lens cap with the magnetic Filter in place (YES)
Can you use the Lens Cap with the magnetic base without the filter magnetically attached (YES)

Overall, really good quality lens and it is a breeze to install. The Magnetism is strong and the lens cap does not fall off nor does the filter. It has just the right amount of magnetism to keep everything in place.
Very Good Lens and Concept for mounting it to the camera.

I have the threaded version of this filter from K&F Concept and I have been very happy with the quality of it. I use it regularly to give a subtle softening effect to my images. This new magnetic version is awesome! The magnetic attachment is very strong and it makes it so quick and easy to install or remove the filter and lens cap. Construction quality is excellent; K&F filters are very much in the same league as Tiffen filters. Highly recommended!

I see that K&F has started to produce a range of different filters (ND, polarizers, and diffusion) using this magnetic system and I would definitely be interested in adding more to my collection because it's a terrific system. It would work especially well for the 10-stop ND filter because that's the kind of filter you have to keep screwing on and off (because you can't see through it to focus), so being able to snap it on and off would make it SO much easier to use.

This makes a very nice clean bloom effect that makes any image look a little warmer and cozier. I included 2 shots with the filter, and one without to compare. There is a slight green flare to the left of the flamingo caused by this filter. It's fairly subtle, but you'll notice it if you're looking for it. It's more noticeable on video with movement, as it also moves around. As I got this primarily for video, that makes it less usable for me.

It screws on cleanly, and I really like the included magnetic dust cover. It's very easy to cap up and remove, and it looks good on the end of a lens.

Overall a great effect filter.

I have the K&F magnet system on all my lenses and, in addition to the Black Mist, I have several of the appropriate ND and CPL filters here. They're so handy, easily stackable and the connection is strong enough that I don't have to worry about one of them falling off. The black fog effect is very small here and is only really noticeable with a lot of backlighting. Many cheaper filters often have a color cast, but I didn't notice that at all with the K&F.

The only downside is that with my Sony lenses, at least the included magnetic caps are really hard to pull off when you have the lens hood on the lens (either forwards or backwards). A grippy element on the front of the cap would have helped. I could 3D print a holder and glue it there to fix it. As the caps aren't really the main reason for using a magnetic filter system although I still give 5 stars they would have been a nice bonus if they worked well but they aren't really critical to the product.

No complaints. The diffused lights are not overwhelming and are fun to shoot with. Satisfied with the quality for the price of the product.

When used on a Nikon D3400 18-55mm it gives great results! Since I was curious to see the result before buying it, I thought some people would like to see a comparison between a picture with the filter and another without the filter...
Good results… Good results…

I've always believed that photo filters and lenses are expensive, although I know good glass and coatings don't come cheap. But this filter... the results are magical. Gold and blue hour photos take on soft mystical qualities, fairy lights turn into will-o'-the-wisps rather than bokeh, blemishes are smoothed out somewhat, and it does a better job than my old soft-focus filter, which tended to brighten shadows too much. It's THE filter I reach for when trying to create a fantasy atmosphere and can even make a photo of a garden gnome seem plausible.

I love the way this has the magnetic ring mount, although I'm saddened that most of my other filters are screw-in and therefore can't be easily swapped out with it. Maybe one day I can get more; my filter stack was mostly built in the early 2000s and could use a few upgrades. This one is worth every penny of its list price for the results.

Great little filter specially designed for cinematic effect.
I'm a professional photographer. I had written a rather lengthy 5 star review but it was rejected for reasons unknown to me. I recommend this filter if you want to soften the visual impact of your photos and videos.

So far, so good. It adds the right amount of haze for portraits to make it stylistic.
