Magnetic tripod Mount for Insta360, DJI Pocket, and Remote Flash Photography
As a long-time photographer, I trust K&F products because of their durable construction and consistent performance. One particularly impressive accessory combines an aluminum Arca tripod base with an adjustable, magnetic soft silicone pad that includes a ¼” mounting hole, enabling me to capture a wide range of creative shots.Ideal for Insta360 cameras, DJI Pocket models, old xenon flash units, Action Cameras and LED video lights. It also comes with two 6.5 × 4.5 cm self-adhesive metal plates, which open up even more mounting possibilities.I’ve used this setup in remote flash configurations, especially with older xenon-fired flashguns in slave mode. To make it work, I pair the flash with a cold shoe adapter, enabling both direct and bounce flash modes. The bounce-on-ceiling technique, in particular, shines for portraits and product photography, giving a soft, flattering light.Beyond traditional use, I’ve mounted this accessory on over-door hooks, chairs, and even fridge doors and kitchen extractor hoods. It’s also been a great companion for LED video lights and DJI Pocket 2 shoots, whether for Instagram content or indoor setups.Pros: • Small form factor with tripod base and flexible magnetic mounting. • Universal mounting: Includes an Universal Arca tripod base with ¼-inch screw and magnetic soft silicone pad with a ¼” mounting hole. • Creative versatility: The magnetic and adjustable flange design allows for diverse setups across gear types. • Best for Insta 360 cameras, Action Cameras, DJI pocket cameras, Old Xenon flash units and LED video lights.Cons: • The magnetic grip isn’t ideal for heavier gear above 500g—my 560g flash unit fell during testing. Holding the DSLRs for a long time is uncertain, but the listed cameras performed flawlessly, so I’m not deducting any points.Important Notes: • Not MagSafe-compatible: Magnet array may interfere with phone sensors (gyro, compass); avoid using with mobile phones. • Surface matters: Magnetic grip varies by material—mild steel offers strong hold, while painted or galvanized surfaces reduce strength. • Flash triggering limitations: Older xenon slave flashes only respond to xenon triggers even from a point-and-shoot cameras, but sadly not from LED phone flashes. • Caution: Due to its strong magnetic field, it may corrupt data if older hard disk drives come into close proximity. • Weight limit: Safely supports up to 400g; heavier devices risk falling. My Nissin i40(350g) flash worked without any issues.
