Full of functionality and surprising quality for the price
For €69 at the time of this test, we have here a completely decent photo tripod to start with, of a much higher quality than what you could have for the same price a few years ago. I took him with me for a week on several photo outings in the countryside for landscape and wildlife. A good aluminum construction mainly with the joints of the segments and other plastic parts, the flap system allows the legs to be easily and quickly deployed while having the advantage of visually knowing if they are locked or not. The legs have 3 stops for their orientation offering a good margin of maneuver for leveling and the central column, which allows a maximum of 192 cm to reach a height of 192 cm, is also reversible to place the device underneath for planes flush with the ground. A hook is also present at the bottom of it to weight the tripod with your camera bag in case of strong wind for example. The leg with the foam handle can be unscrewed (a touch too easily for my taste) to form a fully-fledged monopoly with the central column that can also be added to it, a very practical monopod as well. For the feet and legs, we just have small rubber blocks, so the absence of spikes is one of the only real “pro” features it lacks. The tripod head is a classic ball head, a bit too high profile compared to what I prefer, but which holds up well even with a 150-600mm Sigma zoom on the camera, it does not seem as solid and durable as the one I use on my usual tripod but which alone costs the price of this tripod. 2 Arca Swiss head-compatible plates come with the tripod, as well as a small bluetooth remote control and a smartphone holder these 2 accessories play more the role of gadgets, a slightly too tight carrying case allows you to store everything, or almost since I did not manage to store the smartphone holder with it, it could have been a longer, wider and padded key, but it was already very good to have one for this price. The tripod alone weighs about 1.5 Kg, and almost 2 Kg overall, the load capacity indicated by the manufacturer is 8 Kg which should be enough for 99.9% of users, reaching 4 Kg already on a photo setup is not common and no one will support a 15,000 euro lens on an entry-level tripod. In conclusion: I would have liked to have a tripod of this quality for this price when I started taking photos, it will really meet the needs of beginners, and even more for a small budget. Just a note: like any tripod, it will require a minimum of maintenance if you want it to last a long time. I placed his legs in mud like in river water during this test, behind it I obviously had to clean and dry him to avoid the risk of blocking his legs, this is especially crucial if you go to the seaside, salt water and sand there is nothing worse.
