Nice hood, but would be better with a cutout in one corner to be less visible in the OVF
Soon after purchasing X100VI I found out it struggles with stray light and flare in general. Using a good lens hood really helps in all those situations (except for when the light source is in the frame, of course). This one by K&F promised retro looks and nice craftsmanship, and it delivers on both accounts. I was worried it would make the camera significantly thicker, but it only adds something like one centimeter. That's not bad. But apparently when K&F got inspired by similar hood for rangefinders of the past, they forgotten to replicate one small yet important detail, and that's a cut-out in one corner, to make the hood less visible in the optical viewfinder (which I use 99 % of the time.... it was a reason to get X100 series for me). If you don't mind, or if you primarily use live view from the sensor, then you can ignore this comment. Other than that, the materials are top notch, the shade of silver is well matched to a silver body, and it's reasonably simple to attach and detach. As mentioned, if you don't mind some viewfinder blockage in OVF mode, or use electronic viewfinder or back screen, then it's almost perfect; it's good also for me using the OVF, but could've been better with the cutout, hence 4 stars.
