what is called "Columbus' egg"...
Let's say you have a pair of lenses with a certain diameter and another pair with a different diameter, for example I have 3 lenses with a diameter of 77mm and one with a diameter of 67mm. What do you do? Do you buy all the double filters? A 77 polarizer and a 67 polarizer can also be done, so then you leave it up, but if we go for the NDs we can't buy all the double NDs. After spending a lot of money on a double polarizer, double UV, double ND8, finally my neuron starts to work and I think: why not get an adapter ring and avoid buying 2 x ND16, 2 x ND64 and so on? Genius that I am. Obviously it must be taken with the diameter from smallest to largest, so I took a ring that mounted on the 67 allows me to use the 77 filters, and voilà , that's it. Perfect, no compatibility problems, precise threading on both sides, negligible cost and a lot of money saved.
