Unique Results and Fun to Use
I wasn't sure about the free-floating design at first, but it actually makes a lot of sense and gives you more control. You can play around with having the kaleidoscope in less than half the image, center, left, top, etc. It will be easiest to use with a tripod so you can just focus on placement of the glass.
The glass is well made, rounded and there are no sharp edges. The holder has 1 and 1/2 finger grips and is comfortable enough to use. You also get plenty of microfiber clothes and a hard plastic case to protect it in transport. The thickness is somewhat equivalent to a +10 diopter for reference. When you want to make something more interesting, this is a great choice! I recommend.
