A lot of fun
This camera was a lot of fun! To start with, the viewscreen was a good size to be able to actually see the images we took, and the 8X zoom feature, while not being the highest I've worked with, performed well. Besides, the camera was meant for my kids. Which leads to another 'thumbs up' for the product: its durability. Not military grade by any means, but again, for the price it's excellent. It was good for my kids to help with their fine motor skills, in that the adjustment buttons and focusing tool required they use a light touch. This was especially useful when they went on a nighttime scavenger hunt. This is an activity the camera was made for! From finding animal tracks, to lizards and squirrels running around (and spotting a great horned owl in the upper branches of an oak tree), the camera performed like a champ.
So if you're looking for a solid and fun gift for children, I highly recommend this product.
