This filter makes the colors of my photos more vivid and saturated. I would 100% recommend this filter.

When photography became more than a hobby for me, I started collecting various accessories to make my camera package more complete. One of the elements I found to be essential was a good set of filters for my camera. I started collecting UV filters of various brands, but when it came to an ND filter, I was a little pickier. First of all, I wanted one that was budget-friendly as well as well-made. I finally found what I was looking for in the 77mm ND1000 Filter from K&F Concept.

This filter is available in a variety of sizes from 58mm-82mm. The ND1000 is made with premium Japan Optics glass and an aluminum alloy frame. It’s slim, lightweight and the extra tough frame ensures long-term durability and prevents jamming. The filter features a top level of transmittance and does not have color cast. The 18-layer multi-resistant coating reduces lens flare and ghosting while also making the filter scratch resistant, water repellant, and oil and dust resistant. The multi-coating process also makes it possible for users to achieve super slow shutter speeds in daylight to render moving objects invisible. Because it’s an ND1000 filter, you have the option to reduce the amount of light in a photo by 10 and effectively reduce light reflections while improving the overall image quality.

The filter arrived in a very secure, hard plastic case. It was easy to open, but keeps the filter safe from environmental factors when it’s not in use. It stores easily alongside my camera in my camera backpack. The general purpose of this type of filter is to provide users with a strong neutral density (ND) filter which reduces the amount of light hitting the camera’s sensor by about 1000 times. The ND1000 is an extreme version of the neutral density filter as many of them are typically only 3-stops in strength.

I wanted this filter specifically for outdoor, long-exposure photography. I thought this filter would help me to have a wider variety of shots when using the same photography equipment that I normally do. My favorite all-purpose lens is the Canon EF 24-105mm. This is a 77mm lens and so I selected the 77mm size filter from K&F Concept. The filter fits perfectly on the 24-105mm lens I mentioned before. I didn’t have any issues with it fitting or screwing into place. This has been an issue for me in the past with some other filters.

I tested the filter in a few different ways. First, I held the filter up to the lens without screwing it onto the lens. This showed the difference between the image with the filter and the image with the filter. With this type of test, you can clearly see a correctly exposed image and one that is darkened quite a bit with showing only the ‘hot’ spots of light in the photo. After taking a few shots with the filter installed on my camera, I noticed that there were no edge vignetting issues at all. The glass seems to be of high quality since I didn’t notice any ghosting issues either.

The ND1000 Filter from K&F Concept is a very nice option for a budget-friendly, high-quality piece of glass. It’s been very useful for me and a great addition to my camera kit. If you are looking for an ND1000 filter, I can recommend this one from K&F Concept as opposed to one from another manufacturer that might cost an arm and a leg.

I always wanted to get into long exposure photography and new I had to get an ND filter to do it properly. This lens had hundreds of reviews already so I figured it was worth a shot.

BUILD- The quality of this lens is great. It is metal, and is much heavier than I thought it would be. I don't know if all ND filters are as heavy as this.

FILTER- It's rated as 10 stops. I don't know how to confirm if its exactly 10, but it does cut out a ton of light. It does it effectively. I didn't experience any vignetting, but I wouldn't consider any of the lenses I've used as "ultra wide angle" either.

PHOTOS- Color is great, the photo I have shared speaks for itself. I'm about to go to Utah and will take additional samples.

I had the chance to use it only once so far & I am very satisfied with the results.
The quality is very good for the low price. Great for long exposures on sunny days.
Good quality for the low price.

For a budget ND1000 filter, this product is overall really quite good!

THE GOOD:
- no noticeable loss of detail
- solid build and good filter threads
- no vignetting on 24mm equivalent lens
- handles direct light well without ghosting
- 10 stop rating is very accurate!

THE BAD:
- like many ND1000 filters, both cheap and expensive, it has a color cast. This one has a red-magenta color cast that is mostly fixable in post-processing (see photos, taken with Fujifilm X-T20 and 16-50mm f3.5-5.6 kit lens with controlled settings).
- the plastic case it came in probably isn't great for transporting the filter around as the lid can come off easily, but who would use it for that anyway?
Solid build and great optically for its price Solid build and great optically for its price

Sample image is 30 second exposure, F22, 100 ISO. This filter works great for what it's intended for. It's made some of my photos quite buttery smooth, though it's actually darker than I anticipated. But that's entirely okay, I can generally work around that or get something less powerful. No major flaring issues that I noticed other than what would normally be caused by my lens. Definitely would recommend for anyone looking to do long exposures in the middle of the day. Shot towards the sun in one photo and still ended up with a 10 second exposure. I don't recommend it for long exposures at night unless you want to be sitting around for 30-40 minutes, but that's your own call.Minimal to no sharpness change as well for my shots, though I found focusing through it somewhat difficult late into my sunset shots.
High quality, low price

I couldn't decide between two neutral density filters for ages, then I came across this one by chance and ordered it on a whim.
It arrived well packaged and can't get scratched in its packaging.
I use it exclusively on my Canon EF 16-35mm f/2.8L II USM lens. But that's also because I don't have any other lens with that filter thread.
What can I say?
I had to try a few times before I figured out how to shoot properly with a filter like this, but the results never cease to amaze me.
I edit the images in RAW format in Lightroom and haven't noticed any color cast, etc. so far.
However, you should make sure that the filter and lens are free of dust, otherwise you usually only see unsightly spots on the image afterward.
In these images, I used an exposure time of 30 seconds; ISO 100 and aperture vary depending on the lighting conditions.
I can confidently recommend it! If you have any questions, please feel free to comment.

I use with lenses for my canon 5D Mark IV. Great tool to have. The removal and placement is easy. I use this to capture Long exposure in the day and it does the job wonderfully. Its not bulky at all and you can't tell its on the camera at all. the lens cap can fit right over it while its on. It doesn't add any extra vignetting or unwanted shadows to your photos. HOWEVER, it will amplify any if your lens had some dark shadowy areas in the corner. Not bad at all
