This camera is easy to set up. Charge it with the included USB-C cable, then connect it to the solar panel with a 10-foot cord. Firmware updates automatically; just insert the micro data card and trial SIM card, download the app, and it will connect to the wireless network. A base station isn‘t needed unless you prefer WiFi. The trial SIM lasts 7 days or 100MB, with options to buy cell service: 24GB for $120/year or 6 months for $80 (as of 08/24). It doesn't work with Verizon but is compatible with AT&T for $40/month. The camera features customizable operating times, angles, and motion tracking, with an optional audible alarm. I'm very satisfied.

I have a large property and wanted to monitor the main areas off-grid. Purchased another brand of Camera. It was clunky at best. Alerts and recordings were seemingly random. Trying to get the wife to be able to monitor was even worse. I gave up and purchased Kentfaith. It works well. Takes up less footprint, the interface is infinitely better. Alerts arrive on time. Setup was so much easier. The wife can easily use it as well as myself. Excellent product. Anker makes good stuff. Liked it so much I got another.

Such a great product! We ordered it on Sunday and the cam arrived two days later on Tuesday. I got some time this evening (Thursday) so I opened the box. The box is like in pic1., and the parts are shown in pic2. We haven‘t decided yet where to mount outside - probably above the garage. But I thought I could set it up first in the room, establish the connection, and charge the battery. The paper “manual" is simple but the "Kentfaith Security" app can direct you step by step.
We have been using the other Kentfaith products, including a smart front door lock. So I have the "Kentfaith Security" app in my phone already. The first step in the app is to add this cam by pressing the "+" button, and then select the cam type. I first selected "Professional Camera" and immediately I know it's wrong, because the professional one requires a HomeBase. So I selected Battery Camera (the solar panel should be like a battery I think), and then the app directed me to go through every step: connect to a power source using the USB line, press the Sync button, scan the QR, select the wifi and give password, .... Every step is clear without any confusion. Fantastic!

Pic4 is the camera image I see on the phone. You can see right now it is on my desk facing the closet. We plan to mount it outside this weekend, toward the front yard, and enjoy this high resolution camera. With it, we feel safer, at least.

Strongly recommend this product. We will probably get another one for out backyard. I notice an early review below saying this camera cannot connect to wifi, no, this is not true. My experience shows the wifi connection is very easy. Maybe that customer needs a working router? :-) Thanks!

I love this camera. I keep it at the horse stable to watch my daughter‘s horse. Just in case she gets cast or anything odd happens. I keep the light off so it doesn't bother her. I am getting a second one! The video quality is amazing and it is fun to check on her when I can't be there.

Product works as advertised. Fairly easy to install. The only problem I had was that the unit only works on the 2.4 ghz frequency. Until Spectrum sent my new router, I was previously able to select between 5 ghz and 2.4 ghz. But the new routers are called “smart routers" which automatically choose which band it uses for any given device. This choice is no longer user selectable. To make matters worse, neither the Spectrum app or Netspot app for Mac made the choice selectable. This forced me to call a tech at Spectrum who explained the above to me. Then he forced the router to be only on the 2.4 ghz frequency for one hour, after which it would revert to automatic again. This allowed the Kentfaith cam to make its connection. Once connected at 2.4 ghz it stays connected. Different devices can utilize different frequencies simultaneously with a Spectrum Smart Router, which, while smart, evidently was not smart enough to connect to the Kentfaith without human assistance. During the hour or so that the router is locked in 2.4 ghz mode, your wi-fi signal will be slightly intermittent to where if watching TV your may get a notification of such, but still be able to watch. After a while the notification goes away.

Great camera. Recently caught someone trying to steal wiring from our construction site. There’s no power or WiFi at the site, so the 4g and solar power functions of this camera were a selling point. The live view and solar power work perfectly. Battery stays almost at 100 full time, even with cloudy days. The data plan that the SIM card (included) offers is affordable. All in all, very worth it - 250 bucks ended up saving us 1500 in the long run.
My only issue with is it that it does not identify things well from a distance, especially at night. If the truck in the photos had parked on the other side of the house, the camera wouldn’t have picked it up, and the thief would have gotten away. That’s the only thing keeping me from leaving a 5 star review. Otherwise, everything is great and well worth it.

I installed this security camera about 2 months ago and im very pleased. I have set to 4G since my property is off-grid. I check the property daily with the camera and it shows clear views and comes in working about 90% of the time. Sometimes connectivity weakens and it takes it a few times for it to connect. Two days ago i received an alert, i checked and there was a trespasser on my property. I turned the camera on live through the Kentfaith app and spoke directly to the trespasser to get off the property that I would be calling the police. I took pictures and kept the recordings. He pretended to be looking for his dog but I saw him through the camera on my deck, he eventually got off the property. I sent the pictures and videos to the police for record. The police is patrolling the area now thanks to this camera. I will be getting a second one for the back side of the property.

Simple to install in our backyard. Wish solar panel had a smaller footprint but other than that a great product for the money.
