I used this for the total solar eclipse last April, but I also practiced with it before hand to see sun spots! Protected my vision very well and I would recommend this if you want to see sun spots or are in an area of a partial or total solar eclipse.

Screwed onto the lens perfectly, and works well for blocking sunlight. Sadly the clouds took out my chance at the most recent eclipse, but this still works well for photographing full sun.

Bought this for the eclipse, but I continue to use it to watch sunspots and solar flares. The sun comes in clear and sharp.

I purchased this solely for the purpose of recording some video of the eclipse in April. It works great. Very nicely made and great image even though it was a little cloudy that day. Most importantly no harm came to the camera.

added it to my lens, walked out and snapped some photos of the sun. Very good quality, no degradation of image quality. Later that month took flawless images of the solar eclipse.

If you use a mirrorless camera and don't need to look through an optical viewfinder, you can safely photograph the sun with this filter.

Used this during the eclipse and I didn’t burn a hole in my retinas. The pictures came out great too! Of course Amazon won’t let me attach them though :(
