I bought this to put on a slider, works great. Will probably end up getting on of their tripods.

This ball head does everything it says and that's good. However, there is a design flaw in that the ballhead adjusting lever is on the wrong side. It is on the same side as the hand which one would use to hold the camera during adjustments. You end up having to hold the camera with your left hand while your right hand tightens the ballhead lever. I've had to flip the ballhead around so the lever is worked with my left hand instead, but that meant I lost sight of the bubble level and the panning marking.

Having purchased a tripod and trying to determine what type of head would suit a majority of my photographic needs, (I'm a beginner hobbyist and will be trying numerous genres) I decided that a Gimbal head would cover most of my needs. I opted for this gimbal head over the curved gimbal solely because of the flexibility in adjusting each arm to accept my main lenses, an 18 - 35 for landscape, nightscape, portrait and panorama, and the 150 - 600 for sports, wildlife etc.

This is for the Upgraded Gimbal Head.
I'm astonished how good the construction, fit, and finish was on such an inexpensive gimbal head. I bought mine in the fall, with the intention of using it in Winter for wildlife photography. I'm not sure if it was because the weather was cold, but the grease in the Pan bearing was insanely stiff, and required me to hold the tripod with one hand while rotating the camera with the other, and even then it was stiff enough that I worried about damaging the bayonet mount on my lens from the torsion.
The solution was to remove the rubber pad on the very bottom of the gimbal, which hides three small screws. Remove those screws, pop of the cover, and then you'll have access to the bearing with its very thick grease. I removed about 70% of the grease and then reassembled. It helped tremendously, and I can now pan without having to brace the tripod.
It's still winter, so I'm not sure if it'll be too loose once the grease warms up in the summer, but if so, I'll just add some grease back in.
In any case, this is a great gimbal head for the money!

Glad that I found this gimbal to start my birding journey. Item is light, well-made and easy to setup.
Tip: Apply a pinch of grease on the quick release lock knob screw and that will remove any squeaking noise and locks the Arca Swiss plate much better.

This is the the third GIMBAL that I have ever purchased and by far it is the BEST.......it is lighter it looks good too! Really like this gimbal....Great product!

Fine manufacturing and recommended. I returned mine because it had too many adjustments, more than I needed and was also weighed a bit more than I wanted to carry. If you want an excellent gimbal head, this could be for you.
