Very subtle through the viewfinder, but there is a noticeable affect on exposure time. For achieving a vintage portrait look, this thing is fantastic, especially when coupled with a manual focus legacy lens - I have mine on a Rikenon 50mm. Sharpness is greatly reduces, but not in a "cheap lens" way, just a subtle and even softening. This brings to mind the famous Pentax "soft focus" portrait lenses of the 70s, but is a far less blurred image. Handy to have in the kit bag, but not really good for much other than portraiture. I have yet to try a K&F product that I am not absolutely impressed by.

It works well for creating a blur effect that is difficult to create in video post-production. I would also recommend the 1/4 or 1/2 power version as the effect is sometimes too strong.

Bought it for my mirrorless camera. I love the effect that is out there, much like filters used in films like Minority Report and War of the Worlds by Steven Spielberg, it gives a softer, more diffuse, dream-like image. It's pretty strong, check out examples online to see how other strengths compare.

The K&F Concept Black Diffusion are excellent examples of a filter type that's a little misunderstood by some people, I think, as to what it can accomplish and do. The filters come in various strengths, and at the strong end of the range can produce results that look like diffusion. That might be useful sometimes for still photography. But the real use for these filters is at lower strength (1/8 and 1/4) for video. When used that way they can both subtly reduce contrast, reduce highlight burn and smooth skin. They won't work miracles. But if your scene is well lit and involves a person speaking to the camera or otherwise being face on to the camera these filters can subtly smooth skin and reduce imperfections. The effect is more noticeable with video shot using log profiles and gamma, to be graded in post production, but shows results even with standard color and camera profiles. I have a whole set of these filters in various sizes just for shooting face to camera subjects, talking heads, etc. There are several manufacturers making variations on this type of filter but the K&F Black Diffusion filters have been outstanding.

I'm thrilled!

I only did a short test with my mobile phone after unpacking, but I am convinced that I can shoot really cool portrait and wedding party pictures with the two filters.

Qualitatively, there is nothing to complain about, the diffusion grains look even and good. The filters can also be screwed on perfectly. Attached is a comparison picture, shot with my Sony A7IV at 85mm f1.8
Very nice scattering effect

I bought this 72MM filter supplied with the Sigma 18-35 and it is now indispensable for my video productions. It gives an analog effect that makes the images softer, the action around the lights is perfect and not annoying, moreover the production quality is high. It has a double thread to be able to overlap multiple filters and is equipped with a rigid case, for safe transport, with an anti-slip triangle inside (therefore usable with different filter sizes). At the current price it is a must.

I'm really loving the K&F concept diffusion set, it gives the wonderful haze like effect with halides on the lights and bloom to really give you that dreamy film like aesthetic. The great thing about it is that it also doesn't lower the quality too much of your images. It get's rid of that "clinical" sharp digital look and adds life to your photos. The packaging is great albeit a bit large for the filter itself but it's a nice little carrying case to put into your bag.
I love using the 1/8th strength for everyday shots and the 1/4th when you really want to amp up the dreamy look.

Amazing filter for night street photography in nicely lit situations. Street signs, lights, etc. Add a very nice soft glow to your images. During the day, it's add a soft cinematic touch.

Not on my lens 100% of the time but a very nice filter to have in your bag.

I had my doubts before I bought this black mist 82mm filter, because I mainly shoot landscapes and I thought that they were only used for portrait or street photography. I wasn't sure what I could get out of it and I was pleasantly surprised.

A filter that creates a special atmosphere, adding a kind of haze around points of light. In the photos you can see the effect that it generates, I find it very interesting and I think that in many situations it can give a special touch to the photos.

The filter is a screw-on type, it comes in a plastic box, which also fits different sizes of filters, from 43mm to 82mm. The rim is made of metal and the filter is made of glass.

Right now I can only come up with ideas to investigate landscape applications, it seems to me a very interesting option that I am enjoying a lot.
Very interesting! Very happy with the atmosphere you get! Very interesting! Very happy with the atmosphere you get! Very interesting! Very happy with the atmosphere you get! Very interesting! Super happy that I found this and saved money since I was originally going to buy the tiffen filter. It’s worked well for me and I’m super happy with the results it provides!
