This will work better for outdoors where the head can be restricted to only left - right motion. The ball head which came with the tripod works well for the looking down at objects. This FH-02 hydraulic head will work well for stitching a number of several on the level horizontal exposures without having that up/down that happens when one pans the ball head. Wishing the tighten knobs were built stronger. Missing the toughness of the Gitzo knobs BUT the lightness of tripod/head is a benefit for 4-6 mile plus hikes in and out!
