This translator device looks and feels like a flip phone that works incredibly well. I was shocked and then delighted by how effective it is at helping me understand a different language. I tried using it with people speaking to me in other languages, then I tried using it listening to a video in another language and I even discovered you can take a photo of text and it will translate it for you into any language you select. Very important detail, you must select the language you want to translate from and to.

It takes a few minutes to understand how it works and how you get the device to work correctly. But once you learn that it becomes very easy to use this device. The device looks and feels like a flip cell phone, with the same levels of build quality and toughness. This device has loads of features, some I am yet to explore but if you are traveling to a country where you do not know the language, with this device you should be able to safely navigate and understand what people are saying.

The only challenge is you need to have Wi-Fi for the device to work, but chances are you can get it through your personal mobile device anyway. The battery life has been exceptional so far. I have used mine for 5 hours at a stretch and the battery life was still at about 60%. This personal translator is excellent bang for your buck, in my opinion. I am heading to France for vacation soon and my French is still very basic so with this device I feel confident I will not have any issues understanding what the locals are saying or even what a sign says. I am very pleased I was able to get this personal translator device, it is making a huge difference to my confidence in traveling to a foreign country.

This device does exacly what it advertises. It is very simple to use and it overs numerous language translations. My target language is Spanish it works very simply… you press and hold the talk button, speak into the device, and it translates what you say into your target language. You can also converse with another person who is speaking your target language as it will translate it to English. It is kind of pricey for what it does, I feel. In addition, the menu system isn’t the best and there are several menu selections I just don’t get. It works as advertised however, and seems very well constructed.

I work as a paramedic in a very diverse community that is also extremely busy and on one shift may encounter more than 3 different languages. Currently in my immediate area I cover we have 78 registered languages and that doesn't include regional dialects so having the ability to translate in emergent situations is necessary often. So I bought this handheld translator.

The unit itself reminds me of a flip phone in the way it opens. It supports two screens to allow distance between users, and that's the main reason I bought this. The primary screen device has touch screen and physical buttons and the second screen is a display only.

Regardless of how the device operates physically the most important feature is the translation both from stored languages or live online translation. The stored language is obviously way faster to translate. Options for translation include online, offline, real time AI, photo, text, and even video call translation. The are over 100+ languages to choose from the available list. It's not 100% accurate when trying to record dictation but if you take your time it does work.

It's a good device and it has helped me assess a lot of patients accurately prior to treatment. There are just so many languages and dialects that eventually it may not be in the list but all your major languages, seventeen, are represented. A case is included but it can not be attached to my duty belt, which is my only complaint.

The way this device works better than an app on your phone is that you can show the secondary screen to the person you want to translate languages with. They get to read and hear what ever it was that you said and be able to speak in their language back to you and you see/hear it from your screen. That part is convenient and sort of works real time, at least the written portion of it.

I bought this translator for a recent trip to Japan and overall, it’s a solid device, especially if you’re planning to have longer conversations with someone. The best part is that you can display the other screen to the person you’re talking to, so both of you can speak naturally without constantly passing the device back and forth. That makes it much smoother than using Google Translate for a full dialogue.

That said, it’s not ideal for quick interactions. If you’re just ordering food, asking for directions, or talking to a taxi driver, Google Translate is faster and easier. This one takes a bit of time to power on (almost 30 minutes to get into the actual translation function and navigate to the right feature), which can be a little frustrating when you’re in a hurry.

The offline translation feature is definitely a plus. Google Translate doesn’t always work offline, so having that option came in handy in places without good Wi-Fi. The photo translation works, showing each translation appears on the image, so it’s perfect for menus or signs.

Overall, I’d say it’s a great tool if you travel often or need to communicate more deeply in another language. Just don’t expect it to be the fastest option for quick, on-the-go situations.

This is a very cool translator. I like that you can set it on a table and each person has a screen. It set up easily and works off an internal battery. I use it for first responder situations and it does a fairly good job.
