360° Articulating Inspection Camera Kentfaith Borescope with 6mm Ultra-Fine Camera & 6 LED Lights for Car Inspection Pilot Home Sewer Inspection 2 Meters

This is one of the best things I could possibly have purchased!
I rebuilt my entire engine and this camera saved me so many times. I was not an expert as a mechanic but with this tool I learned so much in so little time.
I love the fact you can see the valves and pistons in the combustion chamber through the spark plugs port. That’s the name of the game right there! Finding bolts and nuts in the engine bay is a plus! Very bright light. Just buy it!

This articulating borescope works shockingly well - like one two or three times the price! Has everything you need built in and out performs others I’ve used. Clear image, easy controls, durable (messy proof), and a smart design.
I’ve used it in walls for wiring, in kids toys for repair, and in a car to locate a wiring issue. Even used it in the backyard to explore nature underground. Such a quality product and worth every penny.

Why did you pick this product vs others?:
Found on sale cyber Monday and was saving $100.00. Thought I’ll buy this for my shop staff and hope that it will serve its purpose but not going to have the highest expectations. We have used this tool to look inside engines, HVAC systems, areas that would normally need disassembly to obtain numbers and that’s just a few ways. This is by far the best tool I’ve bought for our shop to date and would definitely recommend to anyone needing a scope and on the fence of what to buy.

Reviewer note: I'm using the 3.3ft "flexible cable", and I don't know how it compares with the "6.6' semi-rigid cable".
I own several borescopes of varying quality. Some attach to your smartphone, while others have multiple cameras on the end.
This one has to be the most useful of the bunch because of the articulation you get.
The camera comes in a hard protective case, that's actually decent quality.
The screen is detached from the handle to save space, so assembly and disassembly is required before and after use. This is very simply just screwing the connector in place.
The camera already comes with a 32gb microSD card and USB-C charging/data cable.
The screen is bright and clear, and have no issues with its performance.
The buttons directly under the screen gives you access to the camera's settings, rotation, digital zoom, and playback.
The light and record buttons are very conveniently placed on the handle, with easy access with your thumb and index finger.
There's a joystick on the handle, which controls the camera's articulation. It's very intuitive and easy to get used to. My only real complaint about this feature is that you can't lock the camera's position in place; once you lift your thumb, the camera returns to center.
If you aren't used to using a borescope, it may be a little disorienting at first. Even though you are able to rotate the screen viewport, I find it easier to position the camera so it's properly orientated as it enters the area you are looking at.
One strangeness I've noticed is that when you use the screen rotate feature, it actually rotates the text on the screen, too... and it will flip the text in some positions. This seems to be an oversight, as only the camera view should be rotating, not the text on screen. This is a minor issue, but maybe a firmware update can fix it.
Out of the box, the camera is set to record in 720p, but you can switch it to 1080p.
The photos are saved as JPG files, but the videos are AVI and not at all optimized for space or player compatibility. This is a shame, and modern cameras like this should be using modern codecs.
The biggest issue for me, and this goes with nearly all borescopes that have a display, is that the battery is built-in and not designed to be replaced.
For such an expensive device, I really don't want to have to worry about throwing it away or replacing it after a few years because the battery has degraded passed its useful lifespan. Equipping a camera like this with removable 18650 or, 21700 batteries would have been a far more eco-friendly and future-proof design.
At the time fo this review, this camera is listed for $399 less a $140 coupon.

I use this camera for work more than anything else. Simple operation. Good battery life. The picture is good and doesn't try to crap out on you the moment you move it so it can try to auto focus. Works great for looking inside cylinder heads. I would not try to submerge it in anything though.

Can't say enough good about it but just get it, you won't be sorry. Turns on fast and even displays the temperature when using inside an engine. We use it all the time.

I had a particularly hard-to-get-to fix on my Honda that I had been putting off, then I ordered this item in the hopes of being able to see what I was doing instead of holding a mirror up in the engine bay to catch a glimpse of what to do. Once the borescope arrived, I took it out to do the repair and I can't believe how clear the images are. I was able to point the scope at my job and still use the tools to get everything done. So much easier than before. Recommended.
